POSITION SUMMARY:

Marathon's Martinez Renewable Fuels Facility, in Martinez, CA is currently looking for an experienced I/A/E Technician - Electrician. Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, the I/E/A Technician - Electrician will support the operation of the facility through properly maintaining the electrical systems. They will be responsible for the installation, modification, and maintenance of all electrical systems, including the troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment used throughout the facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Use of various tools and equipment to effectively troubleshoot, repair, install, and commission electrical systems.
• Ensure all work is performed in a safe and environmentally compliant manner, adhering to site Health and Safety processes and Environmental regulations.
• Perform work per applicable technical standards and specifications (Marathon, Industry, or Manufacturer).
• Execute preventive maintenance activities as part of our Mechanical Integrity Program.
• Able to understand/use electrical one-line drawings and schematics and operate electrical testing equipment.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and replace components in both AC and DC electrical systems.
• Rack in and rack out electrical contactors and circuit breakers.
• Execute Lock Out/Tag Out procedures, work permitting, and other Marathon and industry safety processes.
• Understand and adhere to Marathon's electrical safe work practices.
• Understand when electrical PPE is necessary and donning when appropriate.
• Able to work alone or as a team to accomplish work efficiently and to high quality standards.
• Effective verbal and written communication and reporting on as-found and as-left conditions.
• Expected to train and become proficient on the maintenance of instrument and analyzer systems, including installation, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and repair.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must have completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program or trade school or two years of verifiable journeyman level electrical work experience.
• Must have previous experience and knowledge in the troubleshooting, repair, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems. This includes Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), batteries, motor control centers (MCC), three phase power, motor control circuits, synchronous and induction motors, lighting systems, cathodic protection, motor operated valves (MOV), transformers, overhead power distribution, conduit, and other electrical devices.
• Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the facility and be able to physically perform all tasks in the field.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for future VISA sponsorship.
• Must obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
• Must be able to support irregular or extended work hours and call-out situations when needed.
• Electrical work experience in a refining, petrochemical, or other related industry preferred.
• Medium and/or high voltage experience preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and SAP preferred.

PAY AND BENEFITS:
• This role has a starting rate of $44.67. Employees with journeyman electrical work experience can start at $49.99/hr. The maximum rate for the position is $54.52 with demonstrated qualification/proficiency after being hired. Annual increases are scheduled.
• Annual Bonus plan that applies to all annual eligible earnings with a target of 6% up to 200% target depending on Company performance.
• 401k plan with Company match of 7% on 6% employee contribution.
• Cash balance pension plan of 7/9/11% depending on age and years of service.

Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, the I/E/A Technician - Instrument/Analyzer will support the operation of the facility through properly maintaining the instrument and analyzer systems. They will be responsible for the installation, calibration, and maintenance of all instrumentation, including the troubleshooting and repair of instrument and analyzer equipment used throughout the facility.

• Use of various tools and test equipment to perform calibration and maintenance on instrumentation and associated equipment, including transmitters, control valves, solenoid valves, vibration equipment, pressure/temperature/level/flow instruments, PLCs, control systems, and other devices.
• Ensure that equipment is safely prepared for Maintenance and all documents are in order prior to starting work.
• Ensure all work is performed in a safe and environmentally compliant manner, adhering to site Health and Safety processes and Environmental regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities
• Assist the I&E Reliability Engineer in creating / updating and reviewing Preventive Maintenance (PM) Plans and associated maintenance procedures or work instructions
• Provide technical support to crafts and operations on technical requirements and issues with unit instrument, control valve, and electrical systems
• Create / Update store stock requests and verify stocking levels
• Support obsolescence and long-range plans, which includes identification of bad actor equipment and development of mitigation plans (i.e. AMS Site Initiatives, SIS/DCS, PLCs, and governor systems, etc.)
• Develop and forecast spending plan in the maintenance expense budget (i.e. MCI, RELU, and OESEP)
• Support capital project organization in developing scope, participate in detailed design, and testing and execution phases of projects
• Enforce application of corporate, industry, and company standards and procedures
• Develop instrumentation turnaround scope
• Support area optimization teams as needed
• Lead / Participate in formal and informal investigation teams as required
• Participate in weekly production meetings with Operations and other support teams
• Follow outside repairs
• Ensure data management systems are updated accordingly (i.e. SAP, Documentum, Instrument Spec Sheets, Controlled Drawings and Documents)
• Mentor Co-ops and participate in the on-boarding process
• Create MOCs and lead evaluations for I&E Reliability initiatives

Min. Qualifications
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline
• Technical expertise of Instrumentation, Control Valves, Electrical Systems and associated equipment
• Minimum of 3 years' experience with Instrumentation and Electrical Systems (prefer 5 years of experience)
