that sets priorities for improvements aligned with ongoing strategic imperatives. Participates and/or

leads teams, work groups, projects, and activities designed to improve operational performance and

processes. Conducts research related to opportunities for performance improvement, establishes plans,

and coordinates teams in achieving performance improvement for the healthcare system. Offers a

breadth of knowledge to acquire data, convert to information, develop improvement plans and coach

departments to their targets. Serves as PI and data management trainer for the department and

leaders throughout the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

These duties and responsibilities described below represent the general tasks performed on a daily basis; other tasks may be assigned.
• Manages, and ensures implementation and effectiveness of PI projects in support of goals and objectives through the entire project life cycle. Ensures positive and measurable impact. Leads and participates in PI projects.
• Coordinates with Director and leaders to ensure optimal use of resources related to PI.
• Maintains a continuous monitoring and reporting system to ensure sustained improvements and/or savings from completed projects.
• Ensures needed data is collected on a timely basis, distributes regular progress reports on active projects, and recommends future improvements based on the data.
• Develop and deliver regular training for department staff and leaders on PI methodologies and data management.
• Serves as a coach and expert resource for department staff who lead PI project. Effectively progress department staff development as Yellow and Green Belts.
• Serve as PI consultant for leaders and staff throughout the organization.
• Manage and prioritize PI request originating from the hospital Quality Committee (OSQC).
• Coordinate the complete of the Leapfrog safety survey application in collaboration with the Patient Safety Specialist.
• Serve as project manager for new department small scale initiatives as needed.
• Lead causal analysis teams, document identified opportunities and root causes, and develop improvement plans with measurable impact.
• Assist with coordinating the Safety Coach and High Reliability program as needed.
• In collaboration with department staff, coordinate the annual Safety Fair to meet organizational goals and support establish quality initiatives.
• Develop and maintain Quality and Patient Safety webpage.
• Assist with quality measure data pull for designated contracted services as needed.
• Other duties as assigned to include coverage of essential departmental functions and services.
• Actively participates as the department representative on designated multidisciplinary teams and committees.

Education and Experience

Minimum Required Education: Masters’ degree in Health Sciences, Industrial Engineering, or Business. Healthcare experience required.

Preferred Education: NA

Experience: 5+ years of directly related experience

Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures related to quality and process

improvement functions and quality tools and methodologies, to include casual analysis.

Expert knowledge of c business software to include Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Working knowledge

of statistical analysis software such as Minitab, working knowledge of data visual software such as

Tableau preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Green Belt certification required. Black Belt certification preferred
