We don't just celebrate the modern Creator Economy. We've been here since Day One.
About the Role
We're looking for a Frontend Software Engineer to join the team and help build tools to power influencer marketing campaigns. This position works as part of the agile-based development team by creating new features and maintaining existing code.
You will join a global team of cross-functional engineers and Product team members to deliver world-class, customer-centric digital experiences. You will be responsible for collaborating with the team to develop project scope along with effective testing approaches to ensure quality applications and products.
The team strives to be ego-free and motivated only by building amazing software for our users. We seek to understand the "why" behind the "what". We regularly break out into small teams to tackle problems, learn new technologies, or just share what we know with others. We test our code and invest in the health of our systems. We push each other, learn from each other, and strive to continually grow.
IZEA's workforce is currently 100% remote and the ideal candidate thrives with the freedom and flexibility this structure provides.
Due to this being a work-from-home opportunity it is posted in multiple locations, however, there is currently only one opening.
Your Responsibilities
You will…
• Work as part of a team (6-10 engineers) to build features for one of our products
• Create and style reusable frontend components that can be shared across the platform
• Write tests to validate that your frontend components behave as expected
• Work with the product owner and design to understand the "why" for building features
• Participate in code reviews (through GitHub pull requests)
• Pair with other engineers to share knowledge or help resolve any blocking issues
• Participate in sprint activities (planning, refinement/estimation, and reviews)
What we're looking for...
You have…
• 1-3 years of experience working with a modern frontend framework (Angular, React, Vue)
• Understand CSS, HTML, and Javascript fundamentals and semantics
• Understand and experience with front-end development tools, NPM, Yarn, Babel, etc.
• Comfortable breaking down wireframes/mocks into pixel perfect reusable components with custom CSS, not a pre-existing framework
• Familiar with Git and GitHub
• Experience using a CSS preprocessor, such as Sass
• Great communication skills, written and verbal
• Motivated team player
• Bonus: Experience integrating with RESTful APIs
• Bonus: Experience with Rails views
• Bonus: Experience with Hotwire and Turbo Frames
Tech Stack
• Ruby on Rails
• Sass
• GraphQL for backend API requests
• Deployed to AWS (Dockerized using ECS)
• Jira, Slack, Zoom for communication
• Git, GitHub
Interview Process
• Application/Resume Review: This is your first interaction with our team. A technical recruiter will review your resume and responses to the initial questionnaire you submitted with your application.
• Recruiter Phone Screen (30 min): A recruiter call you and introduce IZEA and the opportunity, talk about your experience, and most importantly answer any questions you may have.
• Video Chat (30 min): You will meet with a technical team lead who will explain at a high level some of the initiatives we are working on, talk about your experience in greater detail, and answer any questions you may have.
• Project Presentation or Coding Challenge (1.5 hr): Your opportunity to present a project that you have worked on to our engineers. You will explain the project, walk us through some of the source code, and answer questions. If you would prefer a coding challenge instead, we can set that up instead. You will also get the opportunity to have a deeper technical conversation in order to gain a better understanding of how we work and what we work on.
• Wrap Up (30 min): You will meet with your hiring manager to answer any high-level questions you may have about IZEA and/or the products. You will also discuss any goals you may have for yourself or the role.
