The Motor Vehicle Division is responsible for the collection and distribution of fees, sales tax, and personal property tax for the State, County, Cities, and other taxing authorities that levy taxes and/or fees. Job Description

Johnson County Wastewater is looking for qualified applicants to fill the position of Treatment Crew Member I or Crew Member II depending on experience level at the Nelson, Tomahawk and Middle Basin Wastewater plants. Positions work across three different shifts, but the current openings are for two shift schedules. These positions are focused on various operations and maintenance tasks which provide opportunities for learning, growth, and career development in a hands-on values and team based work environment. Johnson County offers excellent benefits, including health insurance, retirement programs, tuition reimbursement, and various discounts and incentives. The tasks completed and those working in this position have an impact on the Wastewater Department mission of protecting the environment, serving our customers, and enhancing our communities. Nelson:

• Performs and analyzes specific laboratory analysis for compliance by collecting samples with standard methods and techniques and performs both routine and more complex microscopic examination of samples for types and quantities of micro-organisms; implements operational adjustments to correct process failures.
• Assists with preventative and general maintenance on equipment by adjusting and troubleshooting pumps, valves, motors and other equipment required to maintain appropriate operations; assists with repair and replacement of a variety of piping and other infrastructure and equipment.
• Maintains and updates operational and maintenance records, logs and databases; performs and records routine and complex mathematical calculations related to plant operational activities; researches alternative processes, products, and equipment; may purchase supplies, equipment, parts, and other items needed in the operations and maintenance of the facilities; may be responsible for developing periodic reports or providing data to supervisor.

Responsibilities Include:

The Attorney position serves as an Assistant County Counselor, acting with substantial discretion, and is responsible for providing non-standardized, complex legal service and counsel to Johnson County Government and its officials, and to the departments and agencies within Johnson County. The duties of the position require frequent contact with County Executives and Elected officials, as well as community leaders and officials of State and Federal Government Agencies. A Juris Doctorate and active Kansas License to practice law are required. A minimum of twelve years experience exhibiting technical and operational mastery of the law, primarily human services, with preference given to the public sector are necessary. Fewer years of experience may be considered depending upon the type and magnitude of the experience. Legal qualifications and capabilities are important, but we also give high importance to professionalism, leadership, and commitment to public service.
