The Job

Reporting to the VP of Marketing, our Head of Product Marketing will lead our growing product marketing practice and build out the team. You’ll own market segmentation, pricing and packaging, product positioning, and go-to-market strategy. But ultimately you’ll be the voice of the customer.

You’ll partner with our product teams to understand market opportunities, define our roadmap, and deliver new products and features to customers and potential customers. You will be responsible for understanding the needs of customers and using those insights to communicate the value and benefits of Homebase. You’ll work with product, sales, and marketing to build the right experiences for different segments of customers. You will take insights from customer and market research and apply them to improve our roadmap as well as marketing and sales motions. You’ll turn data into strategy and strategy into tactics to drive more awareness and adoption of Homebase products.

Responsibilities
• Own positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies
• Execute on go-to-market plans with product, marketing, and sales to drive awareness, adoption, upsell, and retention
• Own pricing and packaging and partner with product, finance, and data to implement, test, measure
• Own market research and segmentation and partner with product to influence roadmap and marketing to optimize messaging across the funnel
• Partner with sales, product, and user research to constantly learn about the customer and their needs
• Drive strategic initiatives and decisions within the company.
• Translate company goals into objectives and initiatives for your team
• Understand the needs of small business owners and their employees and be their voice
• Make sure each customer is getting the most out of Homebase
• Build repeatable processes for product launches and customer communications
• Build and manage a PMM team

Requirements
• 10+ years of experience in marketing and 5+ in product marketing or relevant role
• Strengths in messaging and positioning
• Experience doing qualitative and quantitative customer and market research
• Excellent executive communication skills: synthesizing complex problems and convincing people of your point of view
• Must be excellent at written communication, copywriting, and creative development
• Deep customer empathy; B2C or SMB marketing experience a plus
• 2+ years experience managing a team, setting goals and strategy, and coaching to achieve
• Proven ability to work closely with and influence product leadership
• Excellent project management skills and experience building go-to-market plans
• Analytical mindset and comfort using data to diagnose and inform decisions
• Thrive in a startup environment: ability to prioritize, do the work, coach a team, and teach others at the same time
• Experience in HR, consumer finance, insurance, or other regulated industry a plus
• Experience in pricing and packaging a plus
• Be curious, detail-oriented, and a problem solver
• Ability to work well cross-functionally
• BA/BS degree required; MBA a plus

Why We Need You:

The Human Resources Business Partner will be a strategic partner to Homebase’s executives and managers, acting as a mentor and coach to these leaders as they guide their distributed teams. This is a great opportunity for an HR professional, with direct experience in supporting sales and service, and thrives by the challenges of a fast-paced, growing organization.

Responsibilities
• Partner with executives and managers to understand key objectives and organizational challenges and drive impactful initiatives
• Work with leaders to design career paths, customize development plans, and write job descriptions
• Partner with the broader People Operations team to develop and execute key HR programs and high impact initiatives
• Use feedback from employee surveys to support managers in action planning which help identify solutions and initiatives to drive increased employee engagement or address concerns
• Ensure compliance with Homebase policies and conduct investigations which a high level of confidentiality
• Manage the ongoing performance review and feedback cycle, and play a key role in the compensation review process
• Coach and advise managers on employee relations and performance issues
• Provide accurate and reliable HR guidance, support, and advice to mitigate risk to the business and to comply with federal, state and local employment law
• Assist employees who are navigating challenging personal or professional issues that impact their work experience
• Play a key role in onboarding and offboarding employees, leveraging insights to improve processes within the organization

Must-Have
• 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with 4+ years as HRBP
• Experience supporting CX, CS, and sales support preferred
• Literacy in the concept of sales and sales force effectiveness as it relates to the development and maintenance of highly effective sales teams
• Experience supporting hourly employee client groups in a call center, distribution center, or manufacturing environment
• SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent certification required
