• Completes law enforcement notification on suspected criminal activity in accordance with the statutory mandates.
• Provides written and verbal notification of parties (complainants, administrative and field staff as appropriate) involved with operations of the Complaint program.
• Completes appropriate documentation for federal and state program data collection.
• Compiles reports of complaint calls and ad hoc statistical reports as requested.
• Maintains and updates a log of all complaints and miscellaneous calls received on the hotline.

Completes special projects and performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to ensuring the agency is adequately staffed during and immediately following natural and/or manmade disasters, infectious disease outbreaks, and/or acts of terrorism. Position Summary:
This Administrative Assistant (Area Office Manager) position is located in Topeka, at the District 1 Gage Area Office. Provides direct support to administrators, supervisors, and their support staff. Advises and provides administrative support for the Area/Metro Engineer, staff and employees in areas including consumable supplies, payroll, personnel and fiscal processes. Maintains strict confidentiality relative to employee’s benefits, pay and employee relations. Position is first point of contact at Area level for public and employees. Assists local governments, public and agency officials regarding Area issues.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
• Plans, directs, and coordinates all administrative duties in the Area Office.
• Responsible for ordering, stocking, issuing, and inventory of needed consumable supplies, janitorial supplies, equipment maintenance parts, etc.
• Responsible for tracking and inventory of all capital inventory.
• Provides benefit and work-related information to new employees, process all personnel transactions, provide documentation for drug and alcohol testing, and is the contact person for Worker's Compensation claims.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Two years experience in general office, clerical and administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of State of KS and KDOT rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; and ability to apply and explain them.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to extract, analyze, and transmit complex information form a variety of sources.

• This position is subject to pre-employment physical testing. The selected candidate will be required to pass the screening as a condition of employment.
