Additionally, the candidate must have the ability to help our team and our clients navigate a complex advertising and media consumption environment.

As the Director of Sales, your primary responsibilities include leading a team of 13 in the achievement of revenue goals; maintaining (and growing) market share; effective yield management; accurate forecasting; department budget creation and management; goal setting for the sales organization (including various revenue streams across digital and traditional advertising products), setting strategic direction with a clear execution plan. You will report to the President and General Manager and will be responsible for achieving KCEN/KAGS revenue goals.

Responsibilities:

•  Achieve or exceed annual broadcast and digital revenue goals with an emphasis on enterprise revenue development.

•  Recruit, develop, retain, and supervise an elite, highly performing sales team.

•  Work collaboratively across all KCEN / KAGS departments, including content, marketing and technology.

•  Develop strong relationships with local and national clients and key business decision-makers to accelerate business opportunities.

•  Lead change effectively and embrace new product opportunities.

•  Lead efforts for all high profile “big event” opportunities including the Olympics and other premiere NBC sports.

•  Price and manage inventory to meet and exceed budget goals with accurate forecasting and excellent yield management skills.

•  Develop and implement creative, multi-platform customer solutions that meet client objectives and generate incremental revenue.

•  Optimize the vast product set, training opportunities, vendor and consulting resources available to KCEN / KAGS.

•  Serve as a representative of KCEN/KAGS in the business community through board service and/or community involvement.

•  Travel, as needed, to attend sales-related functions, client meetings and national market trips.

Requirements:

•  Five or more years of proven successful sales management with knowledge of all facets of digital sales, marketing and television broadcast.

•  Experience as a local sales manager, national sales manager and/or rep firm experience a plus

•  Ability to effectively manage a large staff with various skill sets

•  Ability to think and lead strategically, a proven problem solver and thought leader

•  Must be able to work under pressure with changing priorities and goals

•  Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

•  Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•  Wide Orbit, Matrix, Nielsen, and Comscore experience desirable

As a news producer, you will collaborate with news managers, directors, reporters and anchors on the overall content and flow of our news broadcasts. The Producer will primarily focus on originating and producing daily stories for on-air broadcasts. This position will work with... all newsroom staff to develop content that showcases KCEN-TV serving Waco, Temple and Killeen is looking for an experienced newscast producer for our innovative newscasts. As a news producer, you will collaborate with news managers, directors, reporters and anchors on the overall content and flow of our news broadcasts.

The Producer will primarily focus on originating and producing daily stories for on-air broadcasts. This position will work with... all newsroom staff to develop content that showcases the news of the day and delivers interesting and engaging content to the public.

Our producers are more than show stackers – they are seeking out and producing engaging and impactful content. They also have a strong knowledge of digital storytelling. The ideal candidate is an energetic, passionate storyteller and communicator, who excels at planning, researching, and writing segments/stories. The producer must have a strong understanding of AP Style writing, broadcast production techniques, and the ability to multi-task in a faced-paced environment.

The producer must be creative, have a strong editorial voice and the interpersonal skills to collaborate with others to ensure newscast are executed clearly on air, are relevant to current events and meet audience preferences. This role will skillfully use social media and digital tools to research, discover, write, edit, and produce content for the newscast.

Responsibilities:

•  Create, write, and edit content for newscasts.

•  Work with other show producers, on-air talent, and news management, to create new content and showcase content in unique ways. Work with digital team to highlight digital content on air, making sure this content is being properly showcased inside all newscasts.

•  Look for opportunities to create original content. Work with reporters and anchors and MSJ’s to enhance their daily stories with graphics and production techniques that will help tell the story in more visual and compelling way.

•  Collaborate with the newsroom managers on developing news stories and planning; pitch and write/produce stories on-air news coverage and online platforms.

•  Perform other duties as assigned.

•  Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field or equivalent experience required

•  Must be creative and a forward-thinker and have excellent news judgment.

•  Candidate should be able to write compelling copy that is clear and concise and come to work every day with a vision for their newscast.

•  1-3 years’ newsroom producing

•  Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to work in a rapid, fast-paced environment

•  Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•  Strong social media skills, including an active news hound presence on Twitter and Facebook

•  Knowledge of ENPS and Edius preferred

•  Utilize AP style, as well as best web-production practices and story packaging
