• Consistently prospect for new revenue opportunities using client and category insights
• Upsell current customers by engaging them in the full product line of KGW 8 offerings
• Create custom solutions-driven campaigns that meet client needs across multiple media platforms including broadcast, digital and Streaming (OTT)
• Seek opportunities to expand relationships with key clients by taking an active role in understanding their business needs and competitive landscape
• Establish strong relationships with internal team members by providing account management team with clear and concise direction for successful execution of campaigns
• Make decisions and solve problems independently to support customer needs
• Utilize an Account Manager to provide exceptional customer service and contract fulfillment
• Use Matrix to manage day to day activity, pipeline, and forecasts
• Represent KGW 8 and TEGNA to the community at events and surrounding businesses.

KGW is looking for a creative, quick-thinking, innovative Executive Producer to lead production of “The Story”, our award-winning, audience-connected newscast. It’s a different kind of show!
Have you had that moment where you watch all the local newscasts at 6 p.m. and they look the same? That will never be the case with The Story. We’re looking for an Executive Producer who believes in the... power of local journalism and is committed to smashing the mold of what a local newscast should be.
“The Story” stands out by diving deep into local topics and engaging every single day with our viewers in an authentic way. We're not "different" just to say we're different. We educate our audience on things like gentrification, the history of the Pacific Northwest and the difference between disinformation and misinformation.
You must have strong knowledge of both local and national news. You must be able to work with a talented team of producers, reporters and editors to write scripts in a conversational tone, leaning into our anchor’s personality and delivery. You can watch recent shows on our YouTube channel to get a sense of what we mean.
You must also think beyond just the broadcast. This show is designed to serve our audience regardless of platform. It streams live every night on YouTube. People call in with voice mails nightly, in addition to all the usual social media and email channels. That conversation literally drives our show. You should be familiar with best practices on YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and understand SEO.
Responsibilities:
• Lead production of a daily 30-minute show that surprises and informs
• Work side-by-side with anchor, reporters, editors and other producers to develop a daily conversation that strikes the right chord each day
• Stay on top of developing local and national news
• Monitor show email and social media platforms to engage with our audience
• Write in a conversational manner
• Pitch stories and segments for the newscast daily
• Maintain an editorial calendar with medium- and long-term stories
• Conduct interviews when needed
• Serve as member of newsroom management team in executing strategy, personnel oversight and decision-making around "The Story" and any other areas as needed

• 3-5 years newscast producing experience preferred including some EP experience
• Ability to do basic video editing is preferred
• Ability to use newsroom system such as Adobe Suite, ENPS, Slack, and Axis Graphics is preferred
• Ability to work remotely or in-person as needed
Travel: Rarely: less than 10%
Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment
