Job Summary/Description:
KNOE is looking for a morning and noon meteorologist to add to the team! This candidate will produce a forecast for our morning show from 5:00 AM until 7:00 AM as well as our Noon show. In addition to putting together a forecast, this candidate will be responsible for social media posts pertaining to weather on all platforms and contribute to severe weather coverage.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
– Forecast weather conditions and produce/anchor weather reports on all platforms in a clear, engaging, and impactful manner
– Take ownership and execute our weather strategy
– Respond urgently to breaking and severe weather events on all platforms including broadcast, OTT, digital and social media
– Work collaboratively with a team of meteorologists
– Write and update detailed daily web stories
– Take part in promotional activities and public appearances
– Ensure all weather content leads the market and meets KNOE standards for integrity and production value
Qualifications/Requirements:
– Degree in Meteorology desired
– Professional experience desired, but not required
– Knowledge of weather graphic systems, more specifically WSI MAX, desired
