Qualifications/Requirements:

Job Summary/Description:

13 News is seeking an executive producer to join our team. This management position is responsible for the overall look and editorial content of a group of our newscasts and will work directly with our producing team to put these newscasts on the air successfully. They will provide leadership support and help make a large number of decisions about story assignments and coverage and will provide coaching and mentoring feedback to a shift full of employees.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Work closely with producers daily to ensure newscasts are clean, accurate, and compelling
• Coach and teach reporters, anchors, and producers to ensure newscasts are utilizing strong showcasing elements to enhance storytelling
• Communicate with technical media producers (production staff) daily to make sure newscasts are set up to succeed before they go on air
• Develop strategies and goals for newsroom employees with the input of other newsroom managers
• Work on large station projects as assigned by news director
• Work closely with other newsroom managers to make sure station initiatives are being handled properly
• Find solutions and opportunities when problems come up in the newsroom
• Tackle other projects as assigned by newsroom management

Qualifications/Requirements:

• At least 5 years of TV news producing experience
• College degree in journalism or related field
• Prior management or demonstration of leadership experience required
• Experience handling large station projects or initiatives highly preferred

Southern Arizona’s news leader is seeking a compelling anchor. Are you a born storyteller who loves to lead a team of both experienced and novice journalists? KOLD/KMSB has an immediate opening for an anchor/reporter to join our award-winning newsroom. Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Work with the news director and newsroom leaders to produce day turns and/or promotable packages. It is also common for our anchors to field anchor breaking news and high-profile reports.

• Write copy for all platforms.

• Execute a daily digital plan tailored to your daily assignments and long-term projects. This includes posting to social media throughout your shift, identifying opportunities for live streaming on our website/CTV (streaming.) platforms/Facebook, getting breaking news, live and user-generated content into our newscasts.

• Understand our DMA and key target audiences.

• Participate in daily editorial meetings.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Minimum two years of newsroom experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism or a related field.

• An established and responsible presence on digital platforms, including station website, social media and CTV

• Understanding of and adherence to AP Style and broadcast writing.

Job Summary/Description:

KOLD-TV, the Gray Television station in Tucson, Arizona, has an immediate opening for a full-timeNews Producer/Reporter to join our team. This is a hybrid position that will involve both producing and reporting each week.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

- Ability to properly use social media as a news-gathering tool
- Write and post stories for all digital and social media platforms
- Develop and pitch unique enterprise stories daily
- Work well with others
- Shoot, write, edit and present compelling stories, either solo or in collaboration with a photographer
- Participate in daily editorial decisions and long-term strategic newscast initiatives
- Computer knowledge including newsroom software (ENPS), Microsoft applications (Teams) and newsroom editing software (Edius)
- Responsible for the content and overall production of local newscasts
- Oversee all details of the broadcast while working closely with all members of the news team
- Stack the rundown and manage the broadcast from the control room
- Demonstrate strong editorial judgment while following journalistic ethics and libel laws
- Ability to maintain professional and ethical conduct at the station and in the community
- Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving in a collaborative manner with co-workers, supervisors, and viewers
- Flexibility to work varied shifts when necessary, including overnights and weekends
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

- College degree in journalism or related field required or equivalent professional experience
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and motor vehicle record check
- Flexibility in scheduling and/or assigned work shifts
- Must be willing to work in Tucson, Arizona
- Willingness to work overtime and on weekends with short notice (if applicable)
- Must have unrestricted work authorization in the United States
- Ability to interact with all levels of station and corporate management

Job Summary/Description:

Southern Arizona’s news leader is seeking a dynamic newscast producer. Are you a born storyteller? We’re looking for someone who lives for current events – who has excellent news judgment, superb writing skills, and a knack for showcasing stories for the viewer. We need a driven, creative producer who works well with a team of talented professionals to create compelling newscasts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a clear understanding of the relationship between broadcast and digital/CTV platforms as well as how to build a newscast (not just stack stories).

Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Line produce live newscasts daily

• Select content

• Write scripts

• Edit video

• Coordinate with digital producers on cross-platform content

• Communicate with anchors, assignment desk, field crews, and others to ensure execution of a high-quality newscast

• Produce live breaking news and special event coverage

• Participate in daily editorial meetings

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism or a related field

• Self-starter skills

• Knowledge of and ability to operate state-of-the-art television news equipment as well as content management systems and social media

• Experience producing with multiple live sources preferred

• Excellent writing, showcasing, time management skills required
