This position manages a portfolio of business for the NW Region which includes procurement of all products, services, and systems required by employees, physicians and clinicians to do their job. They will be responsible for performing all sourcing/procurement/contracting for the assigned categories (e.g. medical and non-medical equipment and supplies, capital equipment, IT supplies/services... construction and start-up and telecommunications equipment and services) including : developing and implementing a sourcing strategy for the categories assigned, identifying, developing and managing supplier relationships, effectively negotiating contracts and long-term procurement agreements. These activities are expected to realize significant efficiencies and cost savings. They ensure a seamless supply to KPNW of all value-added products, processes and services from our suppliers to our end-users while minimizing expensive inventory and/or waste and support improved financial performance.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Identifies opportunities and develops a purchasing strategy through market intelligence that is consistent with national and regional sourcing strategy to insure KP receives the best value for dollars spent on products and services.
• Manages the contract process through market research and assessment, sourcing strategy, bid and bid evaluation, make vs. buy analysis, net present value analysis, vendor cost analysis, supplier negotiation and selection, contract development, implementation, contract administration and compliance monitoring.
• Provides local contracting support for National Procurement and Sourcing and external GPO agreements. This includes, trend analysis, compliance monitoring, utilization and contract updates, authorizing all changes, additional and deletions and request for exceptions.
• Develops and manages an implementation strategy to include contract conversion, product comparison and evaluations, contract compliance, council and peer participation. Performs project management for supply chain activity e.g. data gathering and analysis, spend per provider, top-ten procedure spend, inventory levels of implant product, consistency of price region wide, consignment of product, or obsolescence. Provides support for revenue cycle activity, product coding and billing, preference card standardization, compliance mandates, and NFS projects.
• Acts as a liaison between Regional client groups and National Procurement and Sourcing ensuring consistency in organization-wide communication initiative roll-outs, and compliance to existing initiatives. This includes advising national of local market practices, review and validation of savings, utilization forecast, savings tracking and reporting, A/P transactions, and performance reporting.
• Provides support and works with customers/Clients/physicians/dentists, developing valued relationships that help drive the strategic sourcing process to secure and implement the best products possible. Conducts comparative opportunity analysis of complex supplier proposals using a cross-functional team determining cost/benefits using a total cost model.
