Job Summary/Description:
The Local Sales Manager at KWTX News 10 is responsible for overseeing all Local revenue for the station while leading a team of sellers and support staff in a positive and collaborative way.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Guide and oversee the Local Sales Teams' selling efforts to achieve revenue goals with both Agency and Direct clients across all available platforms
• Maintain effective internal systems and processes to ensure proper development of new and existing accounts and to help keep account executives on track to achieve their Local Revenue goals
• Develop and maintain excellent Local Advertiser and Agency relationships; making sales calls both on your own and with Account Executives
• Possess emphatic levels of customer service with the goal to exceed client’s expectations
• Strong understanding of marketing with an emphasis on creating strategies that grow market share for local businesses
• Passion for coaching and developing multiplatform sellers
• Have fun and celebrate wins!
• Generate revenue for the station and meet monthly goals through effective outside sales techniques
• Develop new business through selling commercial advertising time and other station products by reaching out to local businesses and other advertisers
• Create and present advertising strategies and ideas for local businesses incorporating TV, online and digital mediums
• Provide input on sales promotion ideas to sales management
• Retain current business and develop new business contacts
• Attain budgeted revenue goals through effective solicitations, promotions and service
• Understand the business objectives and advertising strategies of clients and find ways to help them achieve their objectives through effective advertising
Qualifications/Requirements:

• Strong organizational, written and presentation skills

• Outside media sales experience preferred

In this role, you will anchor our top-rated weekend evening newscasts and serve as a lead reporter three days a week. You will also be part of big-story and major breaking news coverage. You must have a proven track record and a passion for investigative stories and the research process. We desire a current reporter, with some fill-in anchor experience, who desires to grow as a journalist and have consistency on the anchor desk.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Enterprise stories for multiple platforms
- Anchor weekend evening newscasts/produce as necessary
- Cover big stories and major breaking news when needed
- Shoot and edit video
- Possess excellent interview and conversational writing skills
- Ability to produce and post content to our websites
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Work well in a team environment
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and well under pressure
