Key Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the County Clerk’s Office, including:
• Administering all Federal, State, and local elections.
• Maintaining the voter registration of 300,000 active Lane County voters.
• Recording real property records, including indexing and document retention.
• Issuing marriage licenses and domestic partnerships.
• Coordinating civil ceremonies.
• Overseeing the Property Value Appeals Board process.
• Administering the Archives Program.
• Developing, administering, and monitoring the Clerk’s Office budget.
• Providing expert guidance to other departments, the general public, and other agencies.

About the Division
The County Clerk’s office plays a pivotal role in our community’s governance, overseeing essential functions that impact every Lane County resident. Lane County, the fourth most populous county in Oregon, encompasses a diverse landscape extending from the Pacific Ocean to the Cascade Mountains. Our county seat, Eugene, is the state’s second most populous city. Lane County offers a vibrant community for living, working, and recreation, along with an excellent benefits package.

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 4:30pm, with possible overtime and limited periods of restricted time off, during peak election season. All staff perform statutorily required in-person services and the office is open to the public, requiring staff to work in-person. When work permits, staff have the ability to work from home one day per week.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

Project Management:

Collaboration and Communication:

The Design Services Section is responsible for road and bridge design, contract specifications and environmental permitting. The Construction Services Section includes field engineering and inspection, as well as utility coordination and materials testing and laboratory services. The Transportation Planning Section provides short and long range transportation planning and partners with other agencies in both metro and rural areas. Employees in the Surveyor Services Section work on construction and land surveys and on the preservation of government corners. The Surveyor Services Section also provides right-of-way property management for the County.
