Position Description

We are currently seeking Laborers for our California operations.

As a Laborer, you will trench, place duct, pull cable, and directly bury main-line and drops. At a minimum, the position requires a good working knowledge of telecommunications construction, familiarity with Micro Trenchers, Horizontal Directional Drills, Mini Ex, etc. ability to use cable placement equipment and tools.

This is a full time position with overtime and possible weekends as well.

Compensation is DOE.

Responsibilities
• Track and report working hours.
• Adhere to company rules and regulations.
• Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather/road conditions.
• Make safety a priority at all times.
• Follow direction and report to the foreman on the jobsite.
• Adhere to jobsite safety compliance and proper PPE at all times.
• Perform all phases of underground construction that include but are not limited to: Loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes and weight of construction materials and equipment.

Required Skills and Experience
• Must pass a background check and drug test.
• Alert, focused, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.
• Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful.
• High level of composure and good stress management.
• Able to use the following tools: jack hammer, jumping jack, roto hammer, cut-off saw, pedestals, cables, plastic conduit, shovel, rake, sledge hammer, pipe wrench, wire cutters, bolt cutters, cable cutters, drilling shafts, etc.
• Able to meet the physical requirements of the position, which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting, working at heights, in confined spaces, and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications
• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Lives within commuting distance to work site
• With Class A or regular driver’s license

Position Description

We are currently seeking Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) Operators for our California operations.

As a HDD Operator you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment safely and effectively for the installation of telecommunications cable and equipment.

This is a full time position with overtime and possible weekends as well.

Compensation is DOE.

Responsibilities
• Operate the drill rig efficiently.
• Prepare the job and drill so that the shot can be performed safely.
• Pothole all utilities that will either be paralleled or crossed during the bore shot.
• Verify existing utilities.
• Fill water tanks with water.
• Combine water with chemicals for boring according to the ground you are drilling in.
• Locate the drill head from point A to point B without hitting any utilities at the correct depth.
• Hook up swivel, reamer, and pipe product that will be pulled back to complete the bore shot.
• Before the bore shot is started, walk out bore shot to ensure all utilities have been located and develop a plan for going above or below each utility or obstacle in the bore path.
• Pull back the product with the correct hole opener and utilize the correct mud mixture to ensure that the product makes it from point B to point A.
• Inspect and maintain job equipment.
• Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Required Skills and Experience
• A High School Diploma, or equivalent.
• 1 year of relevant experience.
• CDL Class A license with tanker endorsement.
• OSHA 10 Certification.
• Precise hand-eye coordination.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to do some maintenance of drill equipment and mixing units.
• Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more and 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships.
• Ability to identify and distinguish colors of utility flags and markings on the ground.

Preferred Qualifications
• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Able to commute to work site
• Class A or regular driver's license
