Do you want to be part of a committed team, helping the Council to serve its local community and improve lives?
You will be helping the Council to achieve its key strategic objectives, including improving and protecting the local environment, and reducing crime and anti-social behaviour.
We are looking to recruit a qualified solicitor or legal executive to... act as Senior Legal Officer to the Council in relation to litigation work. The team, led by our Principal Legal Officer (Litigation), handles a varied and rewarding caseload of civil and criminal work, including housing, regulatory enforcement and licensing. You will need to be someone who has a flexible, positive, ‘can do’ approach; a lawyer who enjoys finding solutions to problems. This is a full-time role, but we would also be able to consider a job-share arrangement.
The Council’s modern headquarters are located in the centre of the historic market town of Newark, which has excellent train links for Nottingham and Lincoln, and lies on the East Coast mainline. Efficient home-working arrangements are well established.
