Overview

The Food & Nutrition Sales Director will implement growth strategies for the Food & Nutrition sales team to achieve overall business goals and strategies. The Sales Director will lead and supervise a sales team within their defined region and will drive the achievement of sales objectives and LBBS’ company policies and procedures. He or she will be responsible for leading and coaching the team in developing, monitoring and updating the opportunity pipeline, converting target accounts, technical solutions and personal/skill development.

Responsibilities
• Ensure that the customer views LBB Specialties as trusted partner and problem-solver.
• Leverage market knowledge to seek opportunities for new business development. Identify, prioritize, nurture, and develop potential sales.
• Understand market trends and competitive environment in our market segments, key economic conditions/ topics at major accounts, and develops/maintains industry presence and network.
• Be an active member of the Food & Nutrition Vertical leadership team by leading the efforts on top suppliers and sub-vertical products that are key for our long-term growth.
• Align with leadership to prioritize sales teams’ time and focus on key opportunities for significant growth
• Work with sales account managers regularly to implement, monitor and improve selling plans and all sales-related activities, in alignment with the strategic imperatives of the business.
• Provide market and customer feedback to all internal stakeholders.
• Coach the sales team to maintain and grow an active opportunity Pipeline.
• Manage and communicate individual territory sales goals and KPIs annually. Oversee consistent goal achievement of each sales account manager within the region.
• Talent management to include hiring, coaching, retaining, engaging, developing talent, and proactively managing performance.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 10+ years commercial experience in Food & Nutrition market; 5+ years sales leadership experience.
• Proven sales track record with customers/consumers in the Food & Nutrition US specialty chemical market.
• Broad knowledge of chemical distribution – sales, marketing, procurement, financial, etc.
• Proven sales management experience leading a technical sales team, and leadership skills in coaching and team building.
• Ability to establish relationships within various departments within a company, i.e. Purchasing, R&D support, QC, Business Development, Marketing, Product Development

Knowledge and Skills
• Demonstrated problem solving and leadership skills
• General knowledge of consumer and marketplace trends within Food & Nutrition
• Business and technical acumen: understand product portfolio and business strategy and utilize this knowledge to recognize opportunities to provide customer solutions and obtain new business
• Excellent computer skills including (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), previous CRM and ERP experience.

Location: Remote position – East Coast preferred

Compensation: Base salary, car allowance, MBO target bonus

Travel: Approx. 50% (customer meetings, industry events, etc.)

Overview

The Sales Account Manager will be responsible for cultivating productive and mutually beneficial relationships with customers across multiple markets, most prevalent being the oil and gas and flavor and fragrance markets (all under the Industrial Specialties vertical.)

Responsibilities
• Develop long-term, productive relationships with current Industrial Specialties customers by understanding their business needs and seeking to address their challenges.
• Ensure that the customer views LBBS as trusted partner and problem-solver enabling business retention and growth.
• Leverage market knowledge to seek opportunities for new business development. Identify unmet needs, prioritize opportunities and partner within the organization to support growth opportunities.
• Establish (and follow) a rigorous process for following up on new leads, pursuing new lines of inquiry, etc.
• Understand Industrial Specialties market trends and competitive environment in our market segments.
• Provide market and customer feedback to all internal stakeholders.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree required; Scientific discipline preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience across sales and customer facing roles within US specialty chemical distribution market.
• Previous experience working within an opportunity pipeline.
• Experience in polymer science helpful.

Knowledge and Skills
• General knowledge of the Industrial Specialties consumer and marketplace trends particularly in oil and gas, water treatment, and CASE.
• Business and technical acumen: understand product portfolio and business strategy and utilize this knowledge to recognize opportunities to provide customer solutions and obtain new business.
• Generate leads with “hunter” mentality; solutions selling approach
• Familiarity with key Industrial Specialties customer contacts and principal relationships in assigned geography is desired.
• Excellent computer skills including (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), CRM and ERP.
