ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Assist library patrons. This position answers simple informational and technology questions, as well as directional questions pertaining to the location of library materials and facilities at the information desk or circulation desk.

Shelve and maintain library materials. Retrieve discharged library materials from designated areas, removing materials from shelves, placing them on book carts, and pushing heavy book carts to the shelves. Sort and shelve library materials in order by call number, on all shelving from floor level to above shoulder level. Shelf-read, straighten, shift and dust library materials as needed. Shift entire sections of shelving as needed, keeping materials in order. Remove damaged library materials from shelves. Remove newspapers and carry to recycling container. Assist in keeping areas tidy; reshelf materials used by patrons and staff from floor, tables, carts, ends of shelves. Record shelving statistics and report monthly; library assistants shelve 2,000 to 6,000 items per month.

Perform additional assignments as necessary. Transporting materials from the book drops to circulation, and stack and sort for discharge. Discharge library materials accurately using the SIRSI library management system. Assisting with Curbside service. Perform additional tasks as needed, such as unloading and loading bags and bins for the courier; searching for holds and lost items, assisting with programs, remove and transport items to recycling container, processing deselected items, preparing promotional items and displays.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Provides technical assistance and consultation. Researches, analyzes and interprets technical aspects of plans, calculations and maps in permit files. Provides technical advice and expert testimony on stormwater issues as required. Conducts engineering/technical analyses of drainage complaints/problems to discover the source of the problem and, if appropriate, propose solutions. Performs Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) responsibilities which include providing technical review of flood letters, Letters of Map Amendment (LOMAs), FEMA flood studies, Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs), FEMA Letters of Exclusion and FEMA No Rise Certificate studies. Takes complaints and direct them in an expeditious manner to the Permit and Code Services Division. Follows up in all instances where there is a sensitive issue which must find resolution. Reviews all pertinent maps (USGS, FIRM, Environmental Sensitive Feature), topographical and GIS map information, aerial photos, and master permits in conjunction with the inquiry. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in information technology, business, public administration or a related fields and two years of related experience; or graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in business, public administration or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience as described above.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Manages loan portfolio and record retention. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in a supply room or warehouse. No prior drug related convictions. Drug testing under County drug and alcohol testing policy may be required in the event of missing narcotics.

Necessary Special Requirements:

Must possess a valid State of Florida Class "E" Operator's License and have a favorable driving record.

General Description of Duties

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

This position’s primary function is to operate zero turn mowers and small equipment in performing tasks associated with Roadway, Right-of-Way and Stormwater Maintenance and Construction projects within Leon County, thereby assisting the Division in meeting its Mission Statement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Performs unskilled and semi-skilled Tasks Associated With Roadway, Right-of-Way, and Stormwater Maintenance Activities. Such as chainsaws, vibroplate packers, blowers, weed eaters, push mowers, pavement saws, jack hammers, etc.

Mixes and lays riprap, sandbags, block and brick, in the construction of headwalls, retaining walls, and bridge embankments, etc. Performs rough carpentry work such as framing of concrete curbs, inlets, sidewalks, etc.

Cuts bushes and trees and removes sediment by hand as required to maintain drainage systems. Lays sod and seed and hay in ditches and on shoulders as needed for stabilization.

Other Related Duties as Required. Such as periodically subject to be placed on-call standby for emergencies and temporary assignments to various work crews to perform non-routine work tasks.

Other Equipment Operation. Operates various construction and farm equipment such as tractors, rollers, in the absence of normal operator and for special projects as required.

Paperwork Completion. Completes bi-weekly timesheet recording hours worked, leave requests, etc. Completes vehicle accident reports and personal injury reports as required.

OTHER IMPORTANT OR MARGINAL DUTIES

All Leon County employees (regular, full-time, part-time, OPS and PRN) are required to work before, during and after a Declared State of Emergency (DLSOE). Participation is considered a condition of employment.

DIFFICULTY

The position adheres to established guidelines, policies, operating procedures, and must exercise care in operating equipment.

RESPONSIBILITY:

Supervision Received

This position's duties are fairly specific and checked frequently by supervisor. Guidance is sought from supervisor concerning equipment failures and accidents. Employee refers to established manuals and guidelines.

Supervision of Others

This position is non-supervisory.

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CUSTOMER CONTACT

Internal customer contact is made daily with coworkers and monthly scheduling repairs and procuring supplies with Fleet and Purchasing respectively. External customer contact is made with citizens who are adjacent to work sites to answer their questions or to direct them to appropriate contact.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED

The employee may typically use equipment such as, but not limited to, car or light truck, crew cab, dump truck, low boy, farm tractor, chainsaws, vibrapackers, blowers, weed-eaters, mowers, pavement saws, and jack hammers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is performed outdoors. Work environmental factors typically include exposure to inclement weather conditions and various environmental factors, and exposure to insects and animals. Work requires extensive physical demands.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of the use and care of hand tools. Knowledge of equipment safety. Knowledge of power tool operations and maintenance. Knowledge of components, parts, operating and maintenance requirements of the assigned equipment. Ability to operate zero turn mowers and small equipment Ability to deal courteously with the public.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires a high school diploma or GED and 6 months of experience. Experience may substitute for diploma.
