Job Duties

The selected candidate will report to the Deputy Athletic Director, the Director of Compliance’s primary responsibility is to direct, oversee, and coordinate all aspects of the NCAA Rules compliance program in accordance with all Southern Conference, NCAA and VMI rules.

Job Duties:
• Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance systems necessary to support all VMI, SoCon, and NCAA rules and regulations.
• Responsible for the tracking of NCAA legislation and interpretations, processing waivers, and administering rules violations investigations.

• Monitor student-athletes academic progress and eligibility.

Job Description:

This is a full-time on-site 12-month Administrative and Professional Faculty position reporting to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. The salary is competitive, commensurate with experience. Located in Lexington (pop. 7000), in the southern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, VMI is a public, four–year, undergraduate military college offering leading academic programs in the liberal arts, engineering, and the sciences. Faculty members wear uniforms and adhere to military customs, but military experience is neither required nor expected for employment.

• Assists the House Parent in the on-going management of treatment and behavioral modification plans;
• Assists in meal preparation and daily house keeping;

• Completes daily log entries and other communications required in the completion of each resident's treatment plan.

• Assists with activities by participating with children in group games, enforcing safety rules, and intervening when children are likely to injure themselves or each other;

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge- Working knowledge of: agency’s computer systems and software; principles and processes for providing customer and personal services; human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; and mathematics. Some knowledge of regulations, policies, and procedures of the assigned program area as related to assisting the clients; may require some knowledge of counseling terminology and practices.

Skills- Skill in: operating a variety of automated office equipment to include calculator, fax/copier; and the use of computer-driven word processing, spreadsheet, graphics and file maintenance programs.
