Linode is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to deploy and maintain... the platform and tools used internally. In this role, you will be expected to drive automation, operational excellence, and support product development for our customer facing applications and infrastructure. This will require creative thinking combined with deep domain expertise in the areas of Linux systems administration, software packaging and release processes, and observability tooling.
Technologies
You don't have to have experience with all of these, but you should have experience with some of them and an interest to learn others:
• Programming Languages: Python, Golang, and Bash
• Configuration Management & Orchestration: SaltStack, Ansible
• Containerization: Docker
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform
• CI / CD: Jenkins, Artifactory, GitHub Actions
• Monitoring and Logging: Prometheus, Nagios, Grafana, Loki
• Version Control: Git, GitHub
Expectations
• Professional experience in a DevOps, Development, or SysAdmin role, preferably working with large scale distributed systems.
• Experience with defining and enforcing best practices related to releasing and deploying quality software
• Comfort deploying and running mission-critical Linux servers in virtualized environments
• Experience with designing software and infrastructure at scale
• Utilize security best practices to foster a secure-by-design culture in our environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in an agile organization
• Ability to participate to Linode's 24/7 incident response on-call rotation, including being responsive and available to quickly troubleshoot and resolve issues
Nice-to-haves
• Experience with the Hashicorp stack, e.g. Vault, Consul, Terraform, Nomad
• Experience working in a cloud hosting environment
• Exposure to working with Perl
• Experience managing and supporting a production Kubernetes deployment
• Familiarity with best practices of systems architecture, design, and performance tuning
• Presence in the open-source world. Contributions to open-source projects as well as your own portfolio to show off is a huge plus

As Solutions Engineer, you'll play an integral part in sales cycles, defining solutions that meet the requirements of our customers. You'll be both the customers' trusted advisor and technical expert. As a Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for-
• Creating sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai's technology to customers.
• Managing the technical proposal process and ensuring all technical information and recommendations addressing customer requirements are accurate.
• Tracking account activity for business analysis and reporting, designing technical solutions to meet our customer's needs.
• Leading sales activities such as Technical Demos, Customer Analysis Reports (CAR's) and Proof of Concepts (POC's).

• Have 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, another related field or its equivalent.
• Have experience with development/programming.

• Be a customer advocate passionate about delivering technical solutions
