Up to 160K (depending on skills and experience)

Technology-related Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
• *REQUIRED SKILLS FOR SENIOR EMBEDDED LINUX SOFTWARE ENGINEER**
- Minimum 7 years' experience with C or C++ programming
- Experience with Embedded Linux, Linux configuration driver, or Linux application development
- Experience with 8/32 bit microcontrollers
- Experience with bus protocols such as USB, SPI, I2C, GPIO, SDIO, and Ethernet
• *ANY OF THE FOLLOWING WOULD BE VALUABLE**
- Experience with ARM embedded processor(s)
- Experience patching bootloaders, operating system, and device drivers
- Knowledge of Buildroot or Yocto embedded build systems

BlueHalo is in search of a Embedded Linux Engineer. The successful candidate will exercise (or quickly learn!) a wide range of skills to perform design, development, and testing as part of a mission-focused engineering team:
• Embedded Linux (e.g. Yocto, OpenWRT, Buildroot),
• Programming (e.g. Golang, Python, C, C++, Rust, etc)
• Networking (e.g. DHCP/IP address assignment, DNS, LAN/WLAN configuration)
• Wired/wireless communication mechanisms (e.g. Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, Cellular)
• Communication interface configurations (e.g. UART, SPI, I2C, CAN)
• Debugging and troubleshooting hardware (e.g. logic analyzer, multimeter, oscilloscope) and software (e.g. IDE, gdb)
• FPGA interfacing (e.g. SoC)
• Building Embedded Linux distributions for embedded MPU (Arm)
• Building Embedded Linux distributions for RISC-V architecture
• Bootloaders, kernel development, and open-source integration
• CI/CD (e.g. Gitlab, Jenkins, TravisCI, etc.)
Qualifications
• TS/SCI w/poly
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience

Responsibilities
• Designs, develops, documents, test and debug application software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
• Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
• Ensures software standards are met.

• Work on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions that are highly innovative.
Qualifications
• TS/SCI Clearance with FS Polygraph
• B.S. degree in a technical discipline.

• Ability to execute design, development, test, and documentation in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong Embedded Linux development experience.

• Experience with scripting: Shell, Python.
• Real-time Operating System (RTOS) and ‘bare metal’ code experience.
• Reverse engineering experience.
