LAMI currently operates three tall ships; the twin brigantines Irving Johnson and Exy Johnson which are 110’ with 13 sails and our 130’ three masted schooner American Pride. Areas of operation include the Los Angeles and Long Beach Port Complex, from Dan Diego to Santa Barbara, the Northern Channel Islands, and Catalina Island.
As mate, you will be responsible for running the vessel under the direction of the master who is responsible for all elements including safety, crew, training, executing education programs, and maintenance. Responsibilities
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with partners from onboarding to advising them throughout our business processes to ensure high sales results for each boat.
• Coordinate processes and be the first point of contact for our Customer Support, Marketing, Rates & Availability teams.
• Analyze sales KPIs, trends, growth/lost business, and upsell opportunities and provide actionable recommendations for team improvements.
• Serve as a brand ambassador for existing and new products/initiatives, developing tailored sales pitches for each partner.
• Maintain and grow sales by identifying new upsell opportunities (new business initiatives, new inventory, new segments, etc.)
• Identify at-risk clients, resolve conflicts, and advise them until they reach significant sales results.
• Partner with the marketing team to define a strategic plan and execute high-performing client campaigns.

Applicants must be comfortable working at sea for several days at a time as well as pre and post trip day of work.
We specialize in diving with large sharks, and so comfort and enthusiasm with diving with such animals is a must.
Absolute commitment to the highest level of customer service and safety are primary requirements for consideration and continued employment.
Along with the above absolute requirements, only applicants with an experience, excellent work ethic, team player outlook, and positive attitude need apply.
For consideration applicants must pass a pre-employment drug screening and agree to participate in a random drug test program.
Captains license a plus as well.
Applicant must currently be residing in the state of Florida - Locally preferred.
Additional duties usually include assisting customers day and night, in open water, as both tour guide, diver, and deckhand.
Qualifications
