Position Overview:
The Director of Sales for HVAC will be responsible for leading and delivering revenue and margin goals within the 14+ HomeServe HVAC businesses (we call them LBCs – Locally Branded Companies) while delivering on our commitment to an exceptional customer experience. Growth and Customer Focus:
• Support the LBC General Managers, Sales Managers and 40+ Comfort Advisors.
• Lead initiatives across the LBCs including financing, leasing, sales training, sales processes and utilization of systems, including Service Titan.
• Support the use of technology and metrics for developing performance of CSRs and will help influence booking rates favorably across the LBCs.
• Support and drive relationships with distribution partners and supply houses
• Strong interaction with Marketing and other functions to leverage full scope of organizational capabilities to deliver an outstanding sales and installation experience to customers.
• Active participation and joint ownership of new product development and roadmap/ portfolio discussions to provide customer/ industry perspective and voice of sales to organization; Major initiatives will be to introduce heat pumps and other energy efficiency equipment as well as the development and introduction of a Leasing Program for HVAC equipment
Leadership:
• Develop and facilitate training and coaching of Comfort Advisors.
• Build and foster a team environment within and across LBCs.
• Select and implement tools to support Sales goals.
Operational Excellence:
• Own sales and installation performance metrics and dashboards.
• Drive increased proficiency with HVAC applications/ tools across the sales teams.
• Through the deployment of an effective management systems, drive accountability with the GMs regarding sales & installation results.
• Develop sales teams for locations with substantive plumbing sales, including growth of excavation businesses.
Strategy & Planning:
• Development and execution of multi-year sales strategy to meet business objectives.
• Ensuring sales & install model implementation with clear roles & responsibilities throughout LBCs.
• Highly engaged leadership role in business reviews, cross functional meetings to drive business objectives, e.g., monthly operating reviews, sales & operations planning, etc.
• Understanding of how market dynamics and industry trends affect business needs
• Key contributor to annual financial plan and 5-year strategic planning process
• With GM’s/ Directors, manages the sales staffing plan for each LBC Work with HR and Talent Acquisition team to recruit, hire, and retain sales and sales support staff to plan.
Performance Management:
• Manage annual sales quota process, aligned with business operating plans
• Revenue Performance: Support GM’s/ Directors in delivering monthly, quarterly, and annual revenues by center and by LBC business
• Drive process excellence and productivity across the HVAC centers
• Determine key performance indicators for HVAC sales & installation processes to drive process improvement
• Drive pipeline management and forecasting support
Qualifications:
• Five to eight years of progressive sales and operational leadership experience in HVAC or similar site-delivered home service
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in experience
• Experience deploying strong sales operations capabilities; understanding of the use of financing in close sales.
• Exceptional collaboration skills and ability to influence peers and team members.
• Strong planning, problem solving, project management, negotiation, and decision-making skills
