LSE London, a research unit within the Department of Geography and Environment, is pleased to invite applications to the above post, a postdoctoral research position at the level of Research Officer. The post-holder will form part of a small LSE London team evaluating Healthy Homes, Healthy Lives, an Innovate-UK funded project that aims to fund home improvements for low-income owner occupiers. The approach is being piloted in five local-authority areas in London and Brighton, and LSE is the evaluation partner in the HHHL consortium.

The main duties of the post consist of developing a process evaluation framework, designing qualitative post-hoc evaluation tools (including surveys and interview pro formas),conducting qualitative... fieldwork and analysing the results.

The post-holder will be expected to have submitted a PhD thesis for examination by the start date of the post, or other research experience that demonstrates the capability to produce independent original research. Candidates should have research experience in the field of housing policy, housing finance, management, gerontology, or related fields. Strong interest in project evaluation and/or housing for older people and a good knowledge of qualitative research techniques including survey design, interviews and focus groups are essential.

About You

As a Product Designer, you'll take ownership of the end-to-end experience for our lending platforms; working in close collaboration with product managers you'll take digital... products from inception to delivery that meet customer needs and business goals.

You'll help shape not only our products, but also our culture and team.

We're looking for someone who has extensive end-to-end product design experience. For us this means:
• Experience in research and requirements gathering, analysing data, defining product strategy, user journeys, service maps, logic flows, UI/Interaction design.
• Built and shipped applications/software in cross-functional teams
• Can demonstrate strategic product thinking and vision.
• Excellent communication skills with both stakeholders and developers

About your work

This is a greenfield role and would be a great opportunity for an established designer looking to remain hands-on or a Mid looking to step up and take more responsibility. The person in this role will work full-time in our dedicated design systems team.

Reporting directly to our Head of Design, you'll familiarise yourself with our internal and external customers, data-sets, tech stack, and roadmaps. You'll meet the LendInvest tech team and understand our approach to design, our products, and ways-of-working. We endeavour to get you up-to-speed as quickly as possible so you can hit the ground running, making small iterations and delivering immediate impact on our products.

Next

After getting hands-on with our existing products and identifying some quick wins, you'll collaborate closely with product, engineering, and the business to develop our roadmaps and plan for the future. You will communicate your vision across products, proactively engaging stakeholders and teams and finding ways to incrementally deliver it. Working with the product design team you will ensure design standards are being met and continue the development of our design system.

Later

You will champion design throughout the business and promote human-centred methodologies, helping the wider team to embed them in their day-to-day work. The work your team does will be centred around safeguarding our customer's user experience and trust in our brand.

We are looking for an outstanding candidate to lead our French team and French language provision for our own BSc students, for degree students taking French as a credit-bearing elective course and on our extra-curricular courses for a wide range of students at LSE.

You will work closely with the Director of the Language Centre to ensure that our French provision continues to be innovative and forward looking. You will oversee the progress of our own BSc students studying French, and also have responsibility for the Year Abroad at Sciences Po that forms part of our BSc Language, Culture and Society. Additionally, and you will coordinate the design and delivery of our credit-bearing and extracurricular courses leading a team of 9... teachers.

You will also play a key role in the design and delivery of assessment, ensuring School quality assurance standards are met and embedding and disseminating best practice. The successful candidate will have native or near native competence in French and English, a relevant postgraduate qualification in language teaching or applied linguistics and extensive experience of the management of language teaching in Higher Education.

This post involves teaching 230 hours per annum on courses that form part of undergraduate programmes and on our non-degree French language programme.

You will need to have:
• Extensive experience of the management of French language teaching in Higher Education.
• A proven track record of teaching French within the UK Higher Education system across a range of levels and course types
• A Bachelor’s Degree or international equivalent and a relevant postgraduate qualification in language teaching or applied linguistics

The Grantham Research Institute is a world-leading centre for the study of the economics and social sciences of climate change and other global environmental problems, based at the London School of Economics and Political Science. The Institute’s work has been recognised through the award of the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education 2020-22.

Working closely with the GRI sustainable finance team, the role covers a wide range of project management, delivery, communication, and project governance activities.
