The Dean will formulate and administer policies for the college, either on their initiative or as directed by an appropriate authority, with due consideration for the prerogatives of the faculty about educational policy. The Dean also has primary responsibilities for external initiatives, including community outreach and development.
Additional responsibilities include:
• Provides leadership for all academic matters of the college, including research trajectories, educational programs, and recruiting, retaining, and graduating undergraduate and graduate students.
• Oversees the college’s personnel, including hiring, caring for, and retaining faculty and staff, preparing annual evaluations, evaluating promotion and tenure dossiers, and supporting professional development.
• Demonstrates deep commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity in its broadest terms across all college sectors, including but not limited to curriculum, programming, and representations of staff and faculty, to name a few, and effectively represents the college’s best interest internally and externally.
• Grows college’s fundraising and leads alumni relations.

• Represents the College of the Coast and Environment on the Dean’s Council, Provost’s Leadership Team, and University Council.
From the college’s location at Louisiana State University, along the banks of the Mississippi River, the College of the Coast & Environment (CC&E) has a front-row seat to coastal and environmental changes impacting our state, nation, and world. Common stressors include coastal land loss, pollution, and severe weather events, among others. CC&E’s long and rich history of coastal and environmental research discoveries advances knowledge about these stressors and their relationship with lives, livelihoods, and recreation. This research provides sound science so that stakeholders can make informed decisions. Working alongside world-renowned multidisciplinary experts, the college’s graduates acquire the skills and abilities to tackle complex coastal environmental challenges.
The college has two departments, Oceanography & Coastal Sciences (DOCS) and Environmental Sciences (DES). DOCS has 29 faculty members, and the DES has 15 faculty members. There are 200 undergraduate, 113 graduate, and 56 online MS students. The college offers seven degree programs, three undergraduate and two graduate minors, and three graduate certificates.

Work Location: Jefferson, Orleans. The domicile location is Orleans Parish. The areas to be served are Ascension Assumption, St. Bernard, St. Charles St. John, Terrebonne, Lafourche, and Plaquemines Parish.
Position Description: The associate will facilitate and offer parenting, nutrition education and financial management lessons to the clients enrolled in the STEP Program with Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) as a part of the Healthy Beginnings for Your Baby curriculum. The associate will communicate with the DCFS caseworkers and travel and/or provide virtual programming to the designated parishes to offer technical assistance to parents and clients in the Program. This individual must be willing to maintain professional competence as a faculty member of the LSU AgCenter. To attend and conduct programming to meet the needs of clientele, this position may require overnight travel and work on some evenings and weekends. The incumbent is expected to be computer literate and able to use mobile devices such as iPads as teaching tools for nutrition education. This individual will be responsible for reporting, in addition to following deadlines, for any other local or state reporting. Employee must maintain an extensive record keeping system which involves evaluation of knowledge, skills, and behavior change for accountability purposes. As an extension employee, the associate must be willing to participate in professional development trainings. The incumbent is expected to complete an annual plan of work with teaching objectives and perform other tasks that may be assigned by supervisor(s). Qualification Requirements: A baccalaureate degree in community nutrition, human foods and nutrition, family and consumer sciences, dietetics or closely related field from an accredited college or university is required. Must have an undergraduate degree with an overall grade-point average of at least 2.5 (all GPA requirements based on a 4.0 system) and a 3.0 for graduate work attempted, if any, or master’s degree with an overall grade-point average of at least 3.0 or a current grade-point average of at least 3.0 on at least 12 hours of graduate credit. This applicant must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills. Applicant must have knowledge of program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation. Experience in recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers and paraprofessionals and experience in teaching and applying principles of leadership development to both adults and youth is also desired. Knowledge of public relations and the ability to cope with change are highly desirable characteristics. Ability to work with and through others is essential, as is the ability to function with minimum supervision. Successful candidates will exemplify a positive attitude and a passion to improve the lives of others.

Complete standard systems maintenance activities, such as patching, health checks, operating system updates, third party software updates, validating changes and maintaining operational and configuration standards using Unified Endpoint Configuration Management. Assist with the maintenance and administration of the enterprise-wide Unified Endpoint Configuration Management infrastructure. Report anomalies to senior staff for resolution. (25%)
Utilizing Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), the analyst will work closely with other departments on campus to build custom Operating System images that should be made available via PXE booting. This would include lab, department, and base image solutions. Work to build application deployments that meet the needs for all LSU academic departments, faculty, and staff. Job Description:
Works on a Special Events and Moving crew which provides logistical and labor support for the moving of University Departments, assists individuals, academic departments and other University groups with logistical support for special events, programs and other activities within major State University, with over 30,000 students and 4,500 full time faculty and staff. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, however, extended hours and weekends may be required in order to meet the needs of the University.
Job Duties:
30%- Operates stakes body or flat bed trucks with a GVW rating of 10,000 to 26,000 pounds to transport various material, equipment, office furnishing, chemical drums and other materials as required for the operation of the university. On occasion may also operate smaller vehicles such as van, pick up trucks or enclosed trucks.
25%- Directs and oversees the loading and unloading of vehicles, material handling, moving office furnishings and performs all the same functions as Laboring personnel involved these services.
15%- Exercise functional supervision over Laborers, Helpers, Mobile Equipment Operator 1's and Custodians 1's and 2's involved in providing moving and hauling services, setting up for special events, moving University Department, moving heavy research and laboratory equipment. Must have a working knowledge material handling and related moving equipment, handling heavy loads, handling office furnishings and computer and other materials and equipment found on a large University, May also supervise student workers in this capacity.
10%- Operates a boom truck with a boom rating 8,000 pounds and GVW rating 22,000 pounds. Operates forklifts and scissors lifts with lifting capacity over 10,000 pounds or lift height of 12 feet. Uses safety cages, forklift extender as necessary. Will do power washing.
5%- Pick-up, loads and delivers surplus property to the University Property warehouse and the State Property Control warehouse. Verifies the correctness of delivers and pick-ups by checking University equipment tag numbers against the property control forms and paperworks. Checks work done by laboring personnel to insure correctness and maintain inventory control.
5%- Sets up and assembles multi-sectional staging from 1O" to 42" high and risers by doing the actual work or directing the efforts of laboring personnel. Inspects completed work to insure that it is safe, functional and capable of supporting the intended personnel or activity
5%- Make recommendation to supervision and management regarding rigging of loads, moving material, including technique, man-power and special equipment required.
5%- Assembles furniture, special events set up, Modular Office systems, shelving and other items using hand tools. Make minor repairs on special events furniture.
5%- Exercise functional supervision over laboring personnel performing a wide variety if miscellaneous physical labor functions as required to maintain the efficient operation of the University. Assists as required and performs all the same functions as laboring personnel. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
One year of experience in mobile equipment operations.
NOTE:
May be required to possess a valid Louisiana driver's license or commercial driver's license.
Mobile Equipment Operator 2 has the following salary ranges:
Monthly range $2,222 - $3,987
Hourly range $12.82 - $23.00
Supplemental Information: The starting salary for this position is $12.82 - $17.91 and shall be commensurate with the candidate’s experience/qualifications.
Special or Physical Qualifications:
Due to the nature of the position and/or position responsibilities this position shall be subject to drug/alcohol testing in accordance with University Policy Statement 67.
In accordance with PS-18 this position maybe required to report or stay on campus in the event of emergency or closure.
This position requires the ability to lift at least 20 pounds, walk, stand, bend, ascend and descend stairs throughout the day and move furniture and or equipment of at least 20 pounds.
