Adjunct appointments are temporary, for a specified contract period and may require in classroom or online instruction.
The compensation rate is $750.00 - $900.00 per contact hour. Compensation will be determined based on the appointed adjunct faculty rank, which is based on education and industry and/or teaching experience.

We are currently recruiting for a Connecticut POST Certified Police Lieutenant to work at our campus, located in... Manchester, CT. This position is full-time, 40-hours per week. Primary Hours are 1st shift, 7:00am - 3:00pm, Monday - Friday; however, the incumbent must be available to work all shifts. As a College Police Lieutentant, you:
• Must have the ability to work all shifts and weekends as necessary; and to respond to and take command of emergency situations as appropriate;
• Plan, organize and supervise police activities at the college;
• Assess enforcement, protection and security needs of the institution;
• Conduct confidential investigations and handle cases involving more serious or sensitive incidents;
• Serve as a member of the facility security committee.
NOTE: Candidates must be able to prove current POSTC Certification, and must have been certified for over two years to be considered.

GENERAL: Two (2) years of the General Experience must have been at the level of Police Sergeant.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED
A Bachelor's degree may be substituted for one (1) year of the General Experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Candidates must have a current, valid POST-C certification and have the ability to qualify with the use of a department issued firearm;
• Demonstration of progressively responsible leadership experience in law enforcement;
• Demonstrated experience supervising and coordinating police officers, and other employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments and administrative duties;
• Demonstrated experience in the areas of accreditation, training, and administrative investigations;
• Extensive knowledge of relevant state and federal laws, statutes and regulations; traffic and crowd control practices and procedures; criminal law and court procedures;
• Demonstrated record of strong community relations, communications, supervisory, and technical expertise;
• Experience working in a school setting or as a school resource officer;
• Familiarity with laws affecting public safety on a college campus and their application to protecting life and property, while preserving individual constitutional rights;
• Ability to work with campus administration and relevant committees on the development, implementation and maintenance of emergency response procedures, environmental health and safety initiatives and crisis management operations;
• Ability to work collaboratively with college leadership and Student Affairs regarding community college policies and regulations related to student matters;

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
