About the Role:
As an intern in MarketWatch's Washington bureau, you'll help cover the most important economics and politics news from one of the world's most important cities. You'll report to the Washington bureau chief but also work closely with the D.C.-based economics editor and collaborate with our team of reporters.
This role is hybrid, based out of our Washington, D.C. office.
You Will:
• Assist with covering hearings, speeches, and press briefings by members of Congress, Biden administration officials and economic newsmakers
• Write spot news and feature stories of varying length on economic and political topics such as labor-market conditions, tax policy that affects key industries, or aspects of the coming presidential election
• Aid in research and reporting for enterprise stories that come from the Washington bureau
You Have:
• A general interest in and familiarity with key topics in economics, politics and business
• An ability to report and write quickly and cleanly under deadline pressure
• An appetite to cover and write spot news and develop sharp follow-up story angles
• A willingness to generate more deeply reported features
