The Role:
Chegg is looking for a Senior Product Manager to join the Mathway team. Mathway provides students an automated tutor at their fingertips, and is a leader in online Math education. This individual will define the product strategy and play a central role in growing traffic and subscription volume. This individual will develop growth strategies and optimize the end-to-end student journey... through personalization, new market entry, upselling and in-app purchase strategies, and other growth tactics. The goal of this individual will be to grow the subscriber base and make Mathway and Chegg the go-to destination for learning Math. Product Managers at Chegg are mission-driven, visionary, analytical and obsessed with detail. They care about the impact we are making to education and are able to tie back everything we do to our Students First mission. They rally teams of engineers, data scientists, designers and user researchers around common goals, and get things done using a combination of creativity, communication and people skills.
Responsibilities:
Own the product lifecycle, from discovery to implementation through analysis and iteration, for key product initiatives focusing on subscriber growth across Mathway's Native apps and Mathway.com Work with key cross functional stakeholders to understand business goals and gather requirements; identify product additions, changes, and improvements that will support these goals and requirements Develop and maintain a prioritized product backlog based on student-needs, Chegg priorities, and technology considerations Write product requirements and user stories, and communicate those effectively across teams Gain user insight by structuring and running rigorous A/B tests, defining and observing qualitative user studies, and utilizing quantitative market research. Use data-driven approaches to make decisions and continuously improve the product Define, monitor, and report on key product metrics and review them with senior management on a recurring basis. Proactively identify trends within the data to recommend and prioritize new initiatives Work with the engineering and design teams to deliver a product experience that delights students, and help determine the best implementation methods for product initiatives and back-end architectures. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of Product Management experience ideally focusing on subscription products or native app development Excellent product sense that ensures our products remain Student First. This includes the ability to make short-term and long-term trade-offs through the right prioritization frameworks and a strong design intuition. The right candidate will be able to drive growth while maintaining a high bar for user experience. A deeply analytical mindset that leads to the right questions being asked. Sometimes there's data, but often times there's only instinct to fall back on to make decisions. The right candidate will wield both. The ability to communicate effectively and keep the team aligned at all times. This person will be able to frame a discussion with the right level of detail, based on the audience. He/she will strive to over-communicate. True leadership skills, placing the team and the product before themselves, and being a champion for the company's mission, vision and values.
