This person will also support the Disability Coordinator and Benefits Analyst with day-to-day administration of disability and vendor integrations.
This position is fully remote, however, only OK and TX candidates will be considered.
What You Will Do
• Responds to day-to-day benefits inquiries from employees at all levels on plan provisions, benefit enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries
• Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information
• Monitors benefit elections through the Workday HCM system to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines
• Research communication, operational issues or other benefits related problems to root cause and resolution
• Troubleshoots and resolves file integration issues working with the HRIS department and various providers
• Assists new hires to ensure timely enrollment
• Performs quality checks of benefits-related data
• Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes
• Develops a variety of benefits communication throughout the year
• Assists in processing life status changes
• Assists with the open enrollment process and quarterly benefit communication updates
• Partners with the Benefits Analyst to prepare monthly billings for the various carriers and assists our internal Finance team with monthly reconciliations.

What You Will Bring
• 2-3 years of experience with benefits administration
• Demonstrated expertise in day-to-day benefit administration, compliance including, COBRA, FMLA and disability programs
• Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal, as well as organizational and time management skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Associate Degree in HR or related field, but experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education
The annual salary range is $50,000 - $56,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, and a 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
