This show features various collectors and experts who appraise the collections and offer an item for trade which airs on the MeTV network. We are looking for a format-based and documentary Editor to add to our collaborative and creative team on Collector’s Call and other series for Decades, Start TV and MeTV. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated skill set for creating compelling visual storytelling. They will be based in Chicago and will work with a creative team of writers, graphic artists and photographers/editors who produce collaborative content for broadcast.
Duties/Responsibilities:
As a member of a team of cinematographers, visual effects artists, editors, writers and producers, you will collaborate to create compelling content for broadcast. You can edit quickly to bring evocative scripts to life.
You are a natural leader; works well with others and love to tell stories.
Create compelling stories from scripts and source material in order to engage and entertain the viewer.
Craft scenes and episodes from multi-camera footage produced in the studio and in the field, combing original footage, 3rd party assets and a large library of music and sound effects.
Utilize footage and assets from a myriad of sources to best illustrate the story at hand.

General Job Description
Chicago Food To Go Intern will report directly to the Director of News & Local Content and will assist and shadow show producers, segment producers, and on-air contributors in the creation of the weekly show. Interns are treated as professionals and given in-depth learning opportunities for those who want to see what producing compelling television really means.
Overview
This internship will support Chicago Food To Go program and production staff.
Must work at least 20 hours per week Monday-Friday, hours are flexible.
All interns are paid.
Weigel Broadcasting does not subsidize housing.
Duties/Responsibilities
Duties include research, writing, assisting in field shoots, assisting guests
Help get the program on the air, which includes performing routine administrative tasks
Tasks include routine administrative duties and studio maintenance
Assisting in the creation and posting of social media content
Exposure to studio & field production
Other duties, as assigned
Requirements
Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for job, if not currently employed by Weigel Broadcasting Co.
Proficiency in broadcast software like iNews is also helpful.
Students must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Journalism program.
The show starts live at 6 am, early morning hours are required.
Must be extremely organized, detail-oriented, and have strong interpersonal skills.
The ideal candidate should be a self-starter who’s plugged in to pop culture and current events with a fundamental grasp of broadcast news and entertainment shows.
Creativity is a must.
Computer Skills Required Include Microsoft Office Applications.

Responsibilities:
Answer and respond to all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing-related calls from customers, contractors, and management.
Perform preventative maintenance work on building electrical, mechanical, and plumbing equipment supporting the building office space.
Address and correct issues promptly, and properly escalate any on-going or severe issues to the Chief Engineer.
Record all maintenance tasks via the appropriate system, resolve tickets in the system when work is complete.
Escort and work effectively with outside contractors, ensure they are abiding by critical facility work rules.
Adhere to all federal, state, and local safety laws.
