The Manager, IT Security protects the University’s computers, networks, and data against threats, such as security breaches, computer viruses or attacks from cyber-criminals, by assessing the security measures to identify any weak points. The Manager, IT Security facilitates the attainment of higher levels of customer service by directing internal teams in the execution of IT initiatives.
• Designs improved work systems by revising work standards, policies, and procedures, employee work method and utilization, and staffing levels.
• Performs necessary investigation, analysis and evaluation to determine project feasibility.
• Helps to develop project cost and benefit estimates to establish project worth including the development of alternative considerations leading to recommendations for new systems or equipment installations or change to existing ones.
• Advises appropriate people on the implications of existing IT systems that can be applied to a problem.
• Develops and/or evaluates the risk and impact of new and existing systems, applications, and technology solutions to determine the appropriate the appropriate security controls are implemented commensurate with the risk.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Information Technology, or equivalent combination of education and work experience in a similar role.
• Experience in supervising IT engineers and analysts.
• Experience in Healthcare is a plus.
• Knowledge of IT project management and change control principles.
• Ability to triage events, escalations, and incidents to determine remediation and resolution actions.
• Ability to coordinate appropriate response activities across teams or directly with stakeholders to rapidly remediate potential threats.
• Demonstrated experience in assessing and implementing security controls.
• Able to develop processes and procedures documentation.
• Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
• Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.
• Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.

The Associate Director/Lecturer will partner with the Director of the EJC in developing and implementing the Clinic's docket, cases, projects, curriculum, teaching, and other activities. The Associate Director/Lecturer will work independently and also collaboratively in managing cases/projects, teaching clinic classes, supervising students, and representing clients in litigation. The EJC is engaged in projects and cases before local, state, and federal administrative tribunals and courts, and other domestic and international fora, as well as other forms of advocacy, including factual investigations, report-writing, law reform and legislative initiatives, and community organizing campaigns.
The Associate Director/Lecturer will join the vibrant and supportive Miami Law clinical program, currently ranked in the top 30 on U.S. News and World Reports list of best clinical training programs. The position is designed for a lawyer with a deep commitment to environmental justice and its advancement in Miami, the region, and the world. The Associate Director/Lecturer will have the opportunity to participate in the academic life of the law school and in relevant academic and advocacy conferences and to collaborate with the University of Miami's Abess Center for Ecosystem Science & Policy and Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science (RSMAS).
Qualifications

The incumbent provides administrative support to faculty and acts as a liaison between faculty, students, and other Universities. This position assists in the development, monitoring, and reporting of departmental budgets.
Core Job Functions
+ Works closely with students to continuously evaluate their learning experience and improve quality and value of the program.
+ Registers students for courses using University procedures and systems.
+ Acts as an academic advisor for students in the program and as a career advisor for prospective and continuing students.
+ Develops strategic partnerships with external entities and organizations.
+ Creates monthly budget reports to ensure operations are within plan.
+ Assists with database maintenance and enrollment management.
+ Ensures administrative processes and associated forms for instructor services are completed in a timely manner.
+ Responds to various instructor requests and telephone, email, and internet submissions for all programs.
+ Prepares faculty payroll for the program. Plans and participates in open houses for the department.

Processes travel for submission to orthopaedic financial office in accordance with University policies and procedures.
+ Assists the Director in the applicant interview and selection process. This involves preparing packets for applicants to be interviewed, organizing the interview day, coordinating faculty and applicant schedules for

CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Monitor oversees the conduct of clinical trials at the investigative sites to ensure adherence to the protocol, federal regulations, guidance documents, State and local laws and applicable policies.
Additionally, an employee at this level (RPA II) will promote clinical research by providing quality services related to research reviews, assessments, educational functions and projects, by applying a solution-based, collaborative approach with the goal of continuous quality improvement.

• Conducts reviews of protocol and other submissions and communicates with researchers as it relates to regulatory deficiencies.

Department Specific Functions
• Manages all study parameters, clinical study start-up activities, enrollment, and data collection.
• Assists and/or leads efforts in protocol feasibility analysis, site identification, and patient recruitment and planning.
• Independently performs centralized monitoring and on-site monitoring visits, including site qualification, study site initiation, routine monitoring and study site closure visits.
• Performs on site visits and source data verification of eCRFs/EDC as stipulated.
• Establishes and maintains regular contact with investigators, vendors, and study sites to ensure FDA/ICH-GCP/protocol compliance, and assessment of accrual rates.
• Performs drug accountability based on review of drug/device disposition records.
• Prepares clinical monitoring plans and source document templates.
• Assists in study start-up activity including site selection and review of regulatory documents and ensures site is qualified to conduct the study.
• Documents monitoring activities in monitoring reports and follow-up letters.
• Communicates non-compliance issues to the Principal Investigator and appropriate team member(s) in a timeline manner.
• Escalates non-compliance issues as per applicable SOP.
• Communicates project-specific information to/from trial sites and documents communication with study site/ team.
• Collaborates with Clinical Trials Unit Team and others to collect data/documents from sites within established timelines.
• Ensure the reporting of high-quality data and timely query resolution.
• Reviews adverse event reports and ensures the site is reporting the events appropriately and in a timely manner.
• Provides full support to CRO (as applicable) and investigative sites to facilitate study conduct.
• Maintains ICH-GCP documentation for trial sites as applicable.
• Presents at and participates in Investigator Meetings, other study trainings and meetings as required.
• Takes an active role in project team activities including monitoring report review and tracking.

Education:

The University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Director, Health Information Management (HIM). Plans and directs services related to Health Information Management (HIM) in accordance with applicable legal, professional, and accreditation standards. Services include identity management, document management, dictation and transcription, deficiency management, record completion, release of information, retention and destruction, and patient portal. Activities include developing and implementing policies and procedures at both the hospital and department level and leading a staff of 45 supervisors, technical, and clerical employees. Responsible for staff development, training and evaluation, support for health system committees and medical staff, optimal use of IT resources, space planning and hardware, and vendor/contract management. Ensures health information services are provided in a way that consistently exceeds customer expectations. Effectively represents the HIM department throughout the health system and serves as the liaison to governmental, educational, and accrediting organizations for HIM related matters.
Provides leadership and management expertise for all management and staff in HIM. Develops, organizes, manages, and directs departmental activities, establishes work priorities, and develops goals and objectives in relation to health system and department goals. Provides for adequate staffing, develops and delivers ongoing in-service education for staff to maintain and improve skills and performance levels. Directs departmental quality assurance and risk management programs and ensures correction of any deficiencies. Drives work effort to meet/exceed targets, delegates projects and requests where possible and retains Director level work. Develops and revises policies, procedures, and job descriptions according to UHealth guidelines.
Serves as an internal advisor on health information management issues including release of information, confidentiality, information storage and retrieval, and record retention as well as authorship and authentication of health record documentation, standardization of medical vocabularies, and use of classification systems.
Ensures that patient medical records are maintained in compliance with all laws, government regulations and accreditation standards. Ensures that medical records forms, systems, policies and principles are applied uniformly and consistently throughout the Health System.
Maintains the integrity of the master patient index at a level that exceeds national and state benchmarks. Identifies areas of improvement and collaborates with other departments/teams to improve compliance with patient identification/identity functions.
Designs, implements, and manages metrics for tracking and trending of all functional areas in HIM. Motivates direct reports and staff to meet or exceed productivity and quality targets to ensure exceptional service for internal and external customers. Supports team in managing volume of work and staff assignments.
Maintains comprehensive level of knowledge, skill, and expertise in all aspects of patient privacy and confidentiality. Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws regarding privacy and security as they apply to record management activities. Develops procedures and standards to ensure confidentiality of patient health information; provides for timely and appropriate release of medical information in accordance with federal and state laws. Works collaboratively with leadership, risk management, privacy/security, compliance, IT, and HR to minimize the potential risk of privacy and security breaches, to mitigate damages if any, and to resolve related issues.
Implements and monitors compliance with all aspects of the Medical Staff Bylaws/Rules and educates staff as new requirements are approved. Provides for an effective and timely medical records dictation, transcription, and completion process which meets medical staff, administrative and accreditation requirements in a customer-oriented manner.
Leads and participates in administrative and medical staff committees, task forces, and work groups. Applies performance improvement methodologies (LEAN) to health information management and other processes throughout the health system.
Supports and implements the annual operating budget for the Health Information Management Department and capital expense requests. Submits all annual budgets and in a timely fashion. Monitors spending: routinely evaluates monthly productivity levels against target staffing levels and makes necessary operational adjustments to meet goals. Ensures resources are appropriate for departmental staff to meet job demands; considers future services and projects the budget accordingly. Educates employees about financial goals and objectives to encourage ownership and personal accountability.
Establishes and maintains professional relationships with national and local HIM associations and educational institutions to gain insight on future trends in the management of health information. Serves as the clinical site coordinator for all student affiliations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree in related field

• Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in acute care setting.

Hands-on experience with Epic preferred. Advanced knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Access, and OneNote), communication tools, HL7 interface message structure, integration, and reporting is required. Ability to utilize software tools for presentations, data analysis, trending, and communication to all levels within the organization.
• Strong analytical skills to resolve problems and to improve, enhance, or upgrade complex clinical, financial, and patient centric systems and applications with the goal of improving data flow and availability. Work requires a high level of problem-solving due to the complexity of the situations encountered. Able to evaluate existing systems/set up as new applications or upgrades are implemented, providing optimum performance and workflow for areas of responsibility. Formal training in process improvement methodologies such as LEAN or Six Sigma is preferred.

Plans and directs services related to Health Information Management (HIM) in accordance with applicable legal, professional, and accreditation standards. Services include identity management, document management, dictation and transcription, deficiency management, record completion, release of information, retention and destruction, and patient portal. Activities include developing and implementing policies and procedures at both the hospital and department level and leading a staff of 45 supervisors, technical, and clerical employees. Responsible for staff development, training and evaluation, support for health system committees and medical staff, optimal use of IT resources, space planning and hardware, and vendor/contract management. Ensures health information services are provided in a way that consistently exceeds customer expectations. Effectively represents the HIM department throughout the health system and serves as the liaison to governmental, educational, and accrediting organizations for HIM related matters.
Provides leadership and management expertise for all management and staff in HIM. Develops, organizes, manages, and directs departmental activities, establishes work priorities, and develops goals and objectives in relation to health system and department goals. Provides for adequate staffing, develops and delivers ongoing in-service education for staff to maintain and improve skills and performance levels. Directs departmental quality assurance and risk management programs and ensures correction of any deficiencies. Drives work effort to meet/exceed targets, delegates projects and requests where possible and retains Director level work. Develops and revises policies, procedures, and job descriptions according to UHealth guidelines.
Serves as an internal advisor on health information management issues including release of information, confidentiality, information storage and retrieval, and record retention as well as authorship and authentication of health record documentation, standardization of medical vocabularies, and use of classification systems.
Ensures that patient medical records are maintained in compliance with all laws, government regulations and accreditation standards. Ensures that medical records forms, systems, policies and principles are applied uniformly and consistently throughout the Health System.
Maintains the integrity of the master patient index at a level that exceeds national and state benchmarks. Identifies areas of improvement and collaborates with other departments/teams to improve compliance with patient identification/identity functions.
Designs, implements, and manages metrics for tracking and trending of all functional areas in HIM. Motivates direct reports and staff to meet or exceed productivity and quality targets to ensure exceptional service for internal and external customers. Supports team in managing volume of work and staff assignments.
Maintains comprehensive level of knowledge, skill, and expertise in all aspects of patient privacy and confidentiality. Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws regarding privacy and security as they apply to record management activities. Develops procedures and standards to ensure confidentiality of patient health information; provides for timely and appropriate release of medical information in accordance with federal and state laws. Works collaboratively with leadership, risk management, privacy/security, compliance, IT, and HR to minimize the potential risk of privacy and security breaches, to mitigate damages if any, and to resolve related issues.
Implements and monitors compliance with all aspects of the Medical Staff Bylaws/Rules and educates staff as new requirements are approved. Provides for an effective and timely medical records dictation, transcription, and completion process which meets medical staff, administrative and accreditation requirements in a customer-oriented manner.
Leads and participates in administrative and medical staff committees, task forces, and work groups. Applies performance improvement methodologies (LEAN) to health information management and other processes throughout the health system.
Supports and implements the annual operating budget for the Health Information Management Department and capital expense requests. Submits all annual budgets and in a timely fashion. Monitors spending: routinely evaluates monthly productivity levels against target staffing levels and makes necessary operational adjustments to meet goals. Ensures resources are appropriate for departmental staff to meet job demands; considers future services and projects the budget accordingly. Educates employees about financial goals and objectives to encourage ownership and personal accountability.
Establishes and maintains professional relationships with national and local HIM associations and educational institutions to gain insight on future trends in the management of health information. Serves as the clinical site coordinator for all student affiliations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree in related field

• Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in acute care setting.

• Demonstrated knowledge and application of American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), American Association of Medical Transcription (AAMT) Practice Standards, legal regulatory and policy requirements including Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Joint Commission, State of Florida, Office of Civil Rights (OCR), Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Health Information for Technical and Economic Health (HITECH), and University of Miami UHealth Bylaws and Rules.
• Significant technical knowledge of the build, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive electronic health record in an inpatient and ambulatory setting. Hands-on experience with Epic preferred. Advanced knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Access, and OneNote), communication tools, HL7 interface message structure, integration, and reporting is required. Ability to utilize software tools for presentations, data analysis, trending, and communication to all levels within the organization.
• Strong analytical skills to resolve problems and to improve, enhance, or upgrade complex clinical, financial, and patient centric systems and applications with the goal of improving data flow and availability. Work requires a high level of problem-solving due to the complexity of the situations encountered. Able to evaluate existing systems/set up as new applications or upgrades are implemented, providing optimum performance and workflow for areas of responsibility. Formal training in process improvement methodologies such as LEAN or Six Sigma is preferred.
• Expert communication skills to effectively engage employees, direct reports, peers within the leadership team, members of the medical staff, the executive team, customers, and vendors. Work requires dealing effectively with conflicting views and mediating fair and workable solutions.

+ Experience in information systems, cyber security, or architecture
+ Experience in new product introduction lifecycles that include physical hardware as well as embedded or application software.
+ Thorough knowledge and related work experience in the project management process and framework, including Lean, Waterfall and Agile methodology, as well as Project Delivery Framework and SDLC.
+ Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven process.
+ Proven experience managing expectations and managing cross-functional teams.
+ Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements to deliver projects more efficiently.
+ Excellent time management, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with all levels of the organization
+ Confident team leader and consensus builder with strong motivational skills
+ Adept in problem solving and resolving conflict.
+ Able to manage internal customer relationships and expectations, through negotiation and collaboration
+ Demonstrated use of sound and proven program / project management practices and tools, including excellent MS Office skills (ServiceNow preferred)
+ Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
+ Experience in an Agile/Scrum highly desired. Certifications, Licenses and Training PMI Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM) preferred.
