This position is responsible for developing and implementing
programming that supports adult education students in English
language and/or GED® programs as they transition into the workforce
or further postsecondary training.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Supervises monitors and evaluates the performance of 5+
part-time College & Career Coaches under the Adult ESOL and
Basic Skills for College and Careers unit.
• Recruit, train, and supervise College and Career Coach adjuncts
who support students to enter/reenter the workforce and/or continue
their education beyond the ESOL and GED® preparation programs.
• Manage lesson plans and instructional materials, explore and
implement new initiatives, and analyze program data for program
improvement.

Student Advising & Support
• Advise students on an individual basis and in small group
settings about their career goals, plans, employment options and
related postsecondary education and training.
• Follow up with students individually and in groups (e.g. via a
cohort model) to assess needs for additional assistance and to
provide information, referrals, and support as needed prior to and
during the first transition year.
• Support students’ access to wrap-around services such as
behavioral health, food security, healthcare, childcare and public
benefits.
• Design and implement appropriate outreach strategies (e.g.
classroom presentations) to identify and recruit eligible students
from within Adult ESOL & Literacy Programs.

Partnerships
• Establish and maintain working relationships with college
offices and services such as counseling, testing, disabilities
support, and the Educational Opportunities Center. Establishes and
maintains active partnerships and working relationships with area
social service and employment agencies to assist students with the
transition.
• Act as the dean's designee on the Behavioral Intervention Team
(BIT) and for Student Code of Conduct cases. Evaluate risk factors
and work closely with the Dean to initiate the disciplinary or
Behavioral Intervention Team process. Act as a resource for the
Workforce Development & Continuing Education team; advises and
coordinates between BIT cases and the Code of Conduct.

Administrative ​
• Maintain student files and other tracking systems to document
services provided and student outcomes.
• Prepare and submit monthly activity and statistical
reports.
• Assist in the preparation of grant proposals for all unit
programs.

Marketing /Promotion
• Assist program coordinators and staff with the dissemination of
marketing and or promotional materials related to AEBSCC programs
and courses. Keep college community, program faculty, students, and
partners apprised of services through flyers, social media, website
and promotional events.

Program Leadership & Support

The Adult ESOL and Basic Skills for College and Careers unit
regularly seeks new grants and utilizes all staff in the start-up
of related programming. This position provides support to these
projects as they may occur and as time is available.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Student
Advising/Guidance, Social Work, or a related field.
• Three years of direct experience in guidance, student advising,
and/or counseling and working with diverse populations, immigrant
groups, and at-risk learners.
• Two years of experience in an educational setting.
• Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the
United States and not require employer visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Education, Student Advising/Guidance, or a
