The Division of Clinical Research at Massachusetts General Hospital (https://dcr.massgeneral.org/) has opened up a position for a Moodle Developer. As a member of the Division of Clinical Research this Developer will participate updating and maintaining DCR's LMS system environments, according to our Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Additionally, this... Developer will work with the Project Manager and other relevant groups to develop, update, and maintain Moodle LMS and Moodle plugins. We're looking for a per-diem team member who can learn quickly and has strong knowledge of PHP programming language and at least 2 years of Moodle development.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Application design, implementation, maintenance
• Application testing and documentation
• Infrastructure
• Project management
• Troubleshoot and debug code
Qualifications
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
• Experience with web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX
• Familiarity with database management systems such as MySQL & PostgressSQL
• Knowledge of Moodle's core API and its use in customizing and extending the platform and services
• Experience with web services and integration with other systems via API
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug code
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
• Experience with version control systems such as Git and SVN
• Experience in working in a Linux environment to deploy and maintain web applications
EDUCATION:
Associate's Degree required.
Bachelors Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
2+ years related experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Shared office space with members of Research Informatics Core.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree

• Learning Management System (LMS) admin experience (required)
• Knowledge of Moodle 3.X Deployments and Administrative Functions;
• Knowledge of the Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model
• Ability to Incorporate Out of the Box (OOTB) and 3rd Party Content
• Knowledge of SQL Databases; Ability to Compose/ Execute Queries
• Experience with PowerBI - Ability to Compose Data Reports and Visualizations using Moodle Data
• Ability to Compose Educational/ Product Training Materials
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship indefinitely
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust if required
Preferred Qualifications:
• Department of Veterans Affairs experience

We are a non-profit organization that provides classes online for esoteric/occult and philosophical subjects. The platform we use for this online academy is Moodle, and our leadership team knows enough about Moodle to have set it up with classes and students, but not enough to fix issues. We have an issue with the authentication of our users right now and need someone to look at it, but if this task is successful, we'd like to be able to call on this
