The Role
Morning Consult is hiring an Employee Relations Specialist to serve as the connective tissue between our People Strategy and People Operations functions. The Employee Relations Specialist will own day-to-day employee relations (ER) including conducting investigations, addressing accommodations and resolving conflicts. They will also have the opportunity to play a role in how the People team at Morning Consult scales by building repeatable processes, tools and templates.
Success in this role requires a strong ownership orientation, proactivity, a sense of urgency with excellent follow-through and a strong grasp of employment law. The ideal candidate is a structured problem solver, empathetic and has the desire to work in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment while maintaining visibility into their work.
The People team’s purpose is to continuously evolve MC and its people to achieve our collective potential. We do so through our desire to identify the greatest opportunities for change, courage to go beyond what is expected from a People team, curiosity to learn from our actions and others and levity and authenticity in tough moments.
This role is the first of its kind at Morning Consult and serves as a crucial connection point between employees, People Strategy and People Operations. Since it’s a new role, there are many available career paths and the Employee Relations Specialist will have an exciting opportunity to help shape the direction of the role. This role will report to our AVP, People Operations & Technology and, at this time, is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.
Key Responsibilities And Essential Functions
• Execute core HR processes such as performance management, investigations and separations
• Ensure that disciplinary processes are handled in a fair manner and are consistent with local requirements
• Conduct complex and critical employee investigations along with our legal partners, including determining appropriate investigation strategies, leading witness interviews and any required document review and determining findings and recommendations for appropriate resolution
• Review, advise and resolve critical employee concerns, including interpersonal conflict, employee complaints, allegations of harassment, discrimination and retaliation in a timely manner
• Leverage existing playbooks to execute key lifecycle experiences including performance evaluation, promotion and compensation planning cycles, employee engagement and action planning
• Identify opportunities to improve and implement new HR policies by connecting the dots across multiple experiences of MCers
• Provide HR support and consultation to mid-level managers and their team members and answer employee and manager questions about HR programs, policies and other HR-related items
• Effectively and accurately maintain confidential ER data and documentation, including implementing and maintaining a case-tracking system
• Model our core values and behaviors in how you approach your work and others
Desired Skills
• 3-5+ years experience in the HR field
• Advanced understanding of employment and HR-related laws, regulations, policies and principles
• Experience advising on ER issues (e.g., reorganizations, performance issues, investigations)

• Advanced verbal and written communication skills

The expected salary range for this position is $175,000 - $275,000, with a midpoint of $225,000.

The Role:
Morning Consult is actively looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to support an exciting digital transformation opportunity involving AWS and best of breed open source technologies. The Senior DevOps engineer would get to work with multiple agile teams on a large scale modernization and transformation initiative.
This role will join our dedicated Cloud Infrastructure Team which focuses on building solutions to manage organization-wide and multi-region visibility, alerting, eventing and core services. As a part of the Cloud Infrastructure Team, you will be managing a large-scale AWS organization with 40+ accounts and greenfielding new technologies into our stack for managing AWS resources at scale. You will be working on a collaborative team where all members share in architectural design and implementation and will be expected to provide technical leadership to team members and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
• Build, automate and manage complex multi-tier stacks developed using heterogeneous technology platforms in AWS
• Work on a small, growing DevOps team and help with best practices, code reviews, pairing, and technical mentoring
• Ensure that agile development teams are supported from a DevOps standpoint by collaborating with tech leads, engineers, and managers
• Partner with product management on technical roadmaps and requirements
• Assist systems architects in the architecture design process to account for infrastructure considerations
• Continuously improve through feedback
• Perform such other tasks and duties as may be required or assigned from time to time in the Company’s discretion
Desired Skills:
• Hands-on experience in architecting, implementing and operationalizing multi-tier production stacks in AWS
• Practices Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform
• Fluent in at least one major programming language such as Ruby, Python, Go or similar
• Strong system administration experience in Linux with fluency in Bash
• Deep experience and strong expertise working with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience building automated pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins2 or similar
• Strong team player who loves to collaborate and mentor with an infectious can-do attitude
• Experience working on site reliability (ensuring that SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs are met)
• Comfortable with data management infrastructure/services
• Database administrator experience
• Security management experience
• Experienced with OIDC, OAuth2, SAML administration and integration
