Successful candidates will enjoy working with numbers and have... advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel contributing to the “business part” of the music business. We offer an informal environment with casual dress and flexible schedules in addition to a collaborative, “can do” team. Your contributions will include:
• Researching rights to determine the party or parties that own or control rights to songs sold on the Musicnotes site;
• Maintaining details of rights management as they change;
• Producing reporting for royalty payments, reviewing reporting for accuracy and distributing royalty payments;
• Maintaining rights holder contact and other relevant information;
• Organizing and digitizing contracts, licenses and other documents relevant to rights management;
• Fostering relationships with rights holders including responding to inquiries; and
• Coordinating activities with other departments in increasing the selection of products available from Musicnotes.

To be successful in this role, you will need the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• Basic accounting skills are required;

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Business or experience in lieu or education is preferred; and
• Familiarity with intellectual property management and/or music business is preferred.

What You’ll Do...
• Assisting our CFO with all things Accounting – data entry for accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit card reconciliations, expense reports, and entering information into QuickBooks;
• Serving as the primary contact for our team and the liaison between our building owner regarding maintenance requests;
• Maintaining and ordering office supplies;
• Greeting visitors (we have an electronic receptionist);
• Leading all mailing activity – both shipping and receipt of packages; and
• Leading, planning, and coordinating Musicnotes team social events.

What You’ll Bring:
• Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR experience in lieu of education required;
• Minimum 6 months experience working in an office environment is preferred.
• 1 years of Accounting experience specific to data entry, accounts payable, bank reconciliation, credit card reconciliation is required.
