The Boston Navigators seeks qualified candidates to join our campus team to reach college students for Christ in the city.

Full-time, part-time, and bi-vocational positions are available commensurate with experience and willingness to raise financial support.

Leadership, training and team-based structure provided.

Responsibilities:

Ministry creation, leadership, evangelism, discipleship, teaching, public speaking, team-building, teamwork, fundraising, coordinating retreats & conferences, church relations.

Qualifications:

An ideal applicant would have at least two years of work experience or graduate studies (post bachelors degree) and a demonstrated track record of significant achievement and leadership within their professional and/or academic career.

He or she would have a strong Biblical background, a proven commitment to evangelism and discipleship, and the ability to adapt to the culture of a college campus. In terms of work style, the candidate would need to be a self-starter, with the motivation to own tasks and work independently, but also the ability to collaborate effectively with others.

Strong personal motivation to invest in the vision and mission of The Navigators is highly valued, so candidates must be mature and growing Christians, with an understanding of campus ministry, a passion for connecting students with the person of Christ, and a grasp of the strategic role of the university in our culture.

Professional profiles of top candidates might include experienced youth or campus ministers; associate pastors, educators, engineers, business or non-profit leaders or strategy consultants.

Funding:

Various funding models are available for people interested in long-term staff. Fund-raising training and coaching is provided to all new staff. Starting salaries are commensurate with ministry experience, family needs and geographic cost of living in a range between $65,000 and $85,000. Exploratory travel and lodging for a campus team visit will be provided. $5000 in start-up funds will be placed in the staff account of any newly accepted candidates.

Here are three funding options:
• Some staff are fully vocational in that they are full time employees of the Navigators and have reached full-funding to provide for themselves and for their families if married.
• Some staff are bi-vocational in that they work part time for the Navigators and have a second vocation, or they have alternately employed spouses.
• Some individuals are considered Staff Associates in that they have another full time vocation, but are able to give 5-10 hours in campus ministry and draw sufficient gift income to cover ministry expenses and program operating costs.

In order to be eligible for health care benefits as a Navigator employee, individuals must work a minimum of 20 hours in campus ministry.

All Navigator missionary budgets are set according to a salary scale approved by ministry leaders and the Navigators board of directors. All staff are responsible to raise 100% of their approved budget which may include the following:
• Salaries for personal living expenses
• Ministry Funds for communication, travel, meals for students, retreats and conferences
• Benefits to include health insurance, life insurance, retirement savings, workman’s compensation insurance
• Administration to include essential accounting and legal services, donor receipting

Staff Training:

Prior to long-term appointment with a campus ministry, candidates are requested to complete at least two years of residential ministry training with a senior staff trainer and existing campus team. Our current training location is Boston University.

Essential Functions

Administrative Support (55%)
• Maintain the VP of Technology Services calendar
• Perform administrative tasks for the VP of Technology Services, to include, but not limited to, developing and planning agendas for meetings and social engagements, scheduling department events and meetings, invoicing and financial transfers, budget monitoring, inbox management, research and project support, policy upkeep and inventory management.
• Promote relational growth amongst NTS teams and within the Navigators.

Project Coordination (35%)
• Organize and maintain project documentation, utilizing available technologies, to ensure accuracy and accessibility, aligning with project priorities and capacity.
• Schedule project meetings, capture actionable items, and distribute minutes to ensure continuous progress and accountability.
• Ensure all project participants are actively progressing with their assigned responsibilities, adjusting tasks and timelines based on project needs and individual capacity.

Department Support (10%)
• Purchase new computer equipment for the desktop and infrastructure environments
• Work with the Service Desk to assist staff in selecting desktop equipment that is in compliance with the organizational standards.
• Develop help sheets and FAQ lists for end users.
• Participate in providing technology training to users.
• Participate in evangelizing our centralized technology services to users.
• Participate in maintaining a 95% customer satisfaction rating.

Additional Responsibilities
• Participate in development events such as Navigator on-site events, Cultural Development and Diversity trainings or other non-Navigator developmental events as appropriate.
• Read spiritually and culturally developmental books and literature.
• Participate in the annual, organizational Plan and Progress Review (PPR) process.
• Submit time worked on a weekly basis through the Workday Time Tracking system.
• Submit expense report as needed due the 15th of each month.

Compensation Range: $ 18.50-26.44/hour

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Spiritual: Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators. Be a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ: knowing Christ, making him known, and helping others do the same.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of senior communication leadership experience. Minimum 5 years leading a communication team with measurable achievements and outcomes by bringing teams and functions together to achieve organizational strategic goals and objectives. A proven track record of collaborating at a C-suite level and developing strategic plans that sets direction for all internal communications with the ability to set clear direction and driven results.

Technical Knowledge & Skills: Microsoft Office proficiency.

Communication & Leadership: Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills including verbal & written, to create understanding and build strong working relationships, and to facilitate negotiation, problem solving, decision-making and delegation required.

Education: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or administration preferred. This position will assist and represent the General Counsel and Corporate Affairs department of The Navigators providing legal assistance and professional administrative support of both corporate legal and immigration business.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Administrative Support - 85%

Manage administrative tasks for the GC, including but not limited to, schedules and appointments, email correspondence and management, taking meeting minutes and notes, travel logistics, invoices and expenses, project management, logistical support for meetings and events, and other support needs.
Take initiative to anticipate the GC’s and Legal Operations Manager’s daily needs in preparation for meetings, calls and events by managing files, documents, presentation materials (written and PowerPoint), etc.
Provide detailed data entry and maintain accurate contract and immigration tracking on behalf of the legal department.
Collaborate with and receive direction from Legal Operations Manager related to legal support of projects, legal research, and other items as needed.
Prepare and communicate information as assigned by the GC and Legal Operations Manager
Work with Legal Operations Manager to keep GC apprised of situations that might require her attention.
Work with Legal Operations Manager to ensure communication flow between GC, staff, and other departments.
Coordinate communications among the Legal Operations Manager and CARM team so that all are aware of and up to date on key items.
Partner with the U.S. Navigators Board of Directors Executive Assistant in the planning, logistics, and execution of administrative and hostess support for Board and Committee meetings as needed.
Serve as back-up for the Board of Directors Executive Assistant as needed.
Promote a professional, team atmosphere among support staff for the GC.
Represent and act as a liaison for the GC and Corporate Affairs department to NLT, staff, other departments in HQ, the Field and the Board of Directors.

Service Planning and Coordination
? Determines eligibility, conducts outreach, and provides intake and assessment services with youth referred to SCaN program.
? Provides trauma-informed case management services, develop a service plan and goals that assess areas of strength and needs to help youth gain stability. This may include: basic life skills, housing needs, education, employment, physical and mental well-being, and making referrals as needed.
? Connect youth with relevant services to support youth?s goals and immediate needs determined in service plans.
? Identify and engage the youth?s network of supportive and caring adults, and help build the network as needed.
? Schedule and facilitate regular support check-ins with youth and service providers to assess progress and troubleshoot challenges.
? Provide continual support and address any barriers youth may face as they access and complete the services they are connected to.

Street Outreach and Community Engagement
? Receive and respond to internal or external referrals through the SCaN program within 7-10 business days of referral.
? Recruit youth through community outreach and engagement with referral partners, such as: law enforcement, schools, street outreach, and community partners.
? Conduct outreach to referred youth and parent/guardian (if applicable) to discuss the SCaN program?s purpose and expectations, verify youth eligibility for the program, receive parent/guardian consent as needed, and enroll youth (e.g., phone call, virtual meeting, home visit, school visit, meeting with the youth and referral partner, etc.)
? Build a trusting and supportive relationship with youth through relentless engagement by consistently contacting youth to offer support and connecting with youth?s existing network of family, friends, and other individuals involved in the youth?s life
? Drives the agency Outreach van to conduct street outreach and community engagement activities at the direction of the SCaN Program Manager.
? Provides appropriate youth engagement and intervention in all settings, (e.g., street, schools, partner agencies, etc.).
? During street outreach, dresses in a neat, clean and well-groomed manner in order to model positive life skills for youth participants.
? During community engagement events, dress in a professional manner that is neat, clean and well-groomed in order to model the professionalism of Ignite as an agency.
? Arranges for street outreach clients to access laundry and showers resources offered by Ignite, and arranges for staff supervision of the youth while they utilize the services.
? Conducts presentations for community partners, outlining the services provided by Ignite.

General
? Has a valid driver?s license, a clean driving record and is willing and able to drive the agency vehicle when requested ? Following background check, MUST be insurable under the agency?s insurance coverage, otherwise disciplinary action up to and including termination will occur.
? Works as a part of a team to provide support and assistance whenever needed.
? Prepares and submits all required forms and statistical programs. Maintain documents regarding participants? cooperation, daily activities and other records in compliance with agency and external policies, procedures and applicable licensing standards in a timely manner.
