Job Description
NBC10 Boston is looking for a dynamic Reporter to join our award-winning team of journalists.
This is a multi-platform role that requires excellent storytelling skills, ability to break stories, and live on-air presence.
• Report live during newscasts and breaking news as needed
• Create news packages on assigned stories on a daily basis for station’s newscasts,
• Works directly with News Producers on story ideas and development
• Presents completed stories that are accurate, journalistically sound, fair and balanced
• Coordinate, organize, conduct and video-record interviews
• Builds relationships with community and contacts for developing story leads
Qualifications
• BA or BS in Journalism or related field
• At least two years reporting, shooting, writing, and video-editing experience
• Must be an excellent writer and communicator in Spanish

Job Description
The NBC10 Boston News Producer will be responsible for news of the day, special coverage, in-depth stories, breaking news and other news-related content as needed.
Job Duties:
• Responsible for the content and overall production of the local newscasts
• Oversee all details of the broadcast while working closely with all members of the news team
• Stack the rundown and manage the on-air broadcast from the control room
• Contribute story ideas for the newscast and work closely with reporters to execute those ideas
• Produce news stories and specials as assigned
• Oversee and write the news briefs and daily promos when needed
• Respond quickly and aggressively to breaking news and getting information on the air
• Copy-edit reporter scripts as well as all newscast copy
• Must work a flexible schedule when needed to cover other shifts and breaking news
• Field produce stories for the on-air newscast and other news content platforms
• Ensure accuracy of and update information for the on-air news ticker/crawl at the bottom of the screen
Qualifications
• College degree Required
• Minimum of 3 years of television news line producing experience
• Minimum of 3 years of technical skills in news production including creating show rundowns
• Must be proficient in desktop editing

You will have the opportunity to join the creative production operations team of NBC10 Boston, NBC Sports Boston, Telemundo Boston and NECN as our newest Director working in our state of the art facility the NBCU Boston Media Center.
Responsibilities
• Technical preparation and execution of live and recorded television news & sports content and programming from multiple control rooms, studios and remote locations.
• Coding of live & recorded television news events
• Collaborate with editorial and technical personnel to produce high quality, compelling content
• Promote teamwork and a positive work environment
• Have competent understanding/skills related to shot composition, lighting and aesthetics
• Document technical procedures and processes
• Operate graphic and clip playback server operation via Overdrive
• Operate robotic camera controls via Overdrive
• Operate audio mixing console
• Set-up and maintain studio equipment and lighting
• Work with management and engineering staff to continually refine workflows, creating new efficiencies and capabilities
• Shape overall creative appearance of the broadcast using imaginative video, audio and graphics effects
• Gives direction and timing to talent and other personnel on broadcasts
• May act as a traditional Technical Director when applicable

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in television production or equivalent preferred.
• 3+ years of experience directing/technical directing in a fast paced and competitive environment.
• Must have the consistent ability to organize and manage shifting priorities under tight deadlines and in pressure situations. Multi-tasking and adapting quickly to change are necessary traits.
• Requires strong technical aptitude and experience with television control room and studio production technology including video switchers, audio mixers, character generators, robotic camera controls, production automation systems, newsroom editorial software and automated on-air playout systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate solutions in person and in writing.
