The successful candidate will embrace the NCSC mission of improving and making a difference in the courts by:
• Responding to courts’ business and operational challenges offering meaningful services to all court users
• Provide project management skills and organization, including drafting project proposals, coordinating with project staff to ensure work is being done properly, and managing and communicating project activities within the scope of the work.
The Senior Court Management Consultant will be responsible for:
• Assisting courts and other justice organizations in thinking about how best to plan for and implement meaningful language access and ADA accommodation efforts in court proceedings, in courthouses, and in court-ordered third-party mandated services,
• Offering advice and counsel to courts and justice system partners looking to advance and improve services and policies to self-represented litigants,
• Providing program analysis, including identification of areas for improvement and recommendations for change related to language access and ADA needs,
• Assessing operations and interaction of courts and associated justice agencies and third-party providers of mandated court services,
• Analyzing and evaluating needs, issues, problems, operational processes, management strategies, trends, and service delivery to internal and external customers,
• Sharing expertise in disability evaluation standards and accessibility issues,
• Directing and leading the work of multi-disciplinary teams,
• Recommending changes in the operation, organization structure, and interaction of courts and associated justice agencies; and
• Developing new business opportunities and preparing proposals in response to solicitations.
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
• Advanced degree in business, public administration, judicial administration, criminal justice, social work, and/or a law degree, and
• A minimum of five years’ experience working at a combination of the state judiciary level, local trial court level and/or equivalent non-profit experience, which includes experience that demonstrates experience working with courts related to language and disability access, direct project management activities, and develop recommendations and solutions for complex issues facing state courts.
• Extensive client contact and some overnight travel is required.

Proven Ability To
• Maintain an external customer focus,
• Provide policy direction,
• Communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with both business and interpreter audiences,
• Analyze, evaluate, and resolve complex operations and organizational problems,
• Plan, direct, assign and supervise the work of multi-disciplined teams,
• Develop plain language resources for court staff, interpreters, and self-represented litigants, and
• Use technology to solve problems creatively.
Knowledge of and Expertise In
• Understanding of case management systems and user centric systems,
• Research methods and practices,
