Essential job duties

Advises chairperson and members of the Executive Board on all matters relating to the administrative, management and policy issues affecting the Nebraska Unicameral. This includes but is not limited to legal matters affecting the Legislative Council, human resource issues and internal operating matters.

Responds to all human resource questions from legislators and legislative staff. This includes but is not limited to family and medical leave, grievance procedures, salary appeals, harassment claims and staffing issues.

Researches, drafts and implements internal policies pertaining to the Legislative Council.

Oversees all activities and information requests involving the Executive Board's activities, policies and procedures.

Drafts bills and amendments that affect the business of the Legislative Council.

Researches, summarizes and analyzes all bills and constitutional amendments the Executive Board public hearings.

Assists with new session organizational issues such as new staff orientations and office assignments,.

Participates in Reference Committee meetings to refer bills and resolutions to the appropriate standing committee.

Responds to physical environment issues and advises the Coordinator of Legislative Services and the Legislative Business Manager.

Performs other duties as assigned.
