Reporting to the Director of Comprehensive Advising (DSO/ARO), the Assistant Director of Comprehensive Advising will support the range of Office of Global Services (OGS) functions at the Boston campus. Specifically, the Assistant Director will provide support for the comprehensive advising processes and procedures for international students and scholars at Northeastern University. This includes all SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) compliance functions, review and processing of Certificates of Eligibility (I-20 and DS-2019 forms) for students and scholars in non-immigrant status classifications, and review of documentation for other study-eligible non-immigrant status classifications. The Assistant Director will ensure that all SEVIS actions across all OGS functions occur in a timely manner, including but not limited to Initial I-20 issuance, registration, employment benefits (i.e., on-campus jobs, CPT, OPT, etc.), and completion/termination/transfer options, as well as advising on maintenance of status and support for international student success. This person will examine the type, viability, accuracy, and processing sequence of every application as it applies to each individual applicant case. The Assistant Director works independently and with minimal supervision to provide holistic advising to students. Holistic advising includes but is not limited to personal counseling, supporting academic adjustment, acculturation, etc., and providing region/campus specific resources.

Responsibilities Include
• The Assistant Director must maintain knowledge and operational expertise of SEVIS functions and upgrades, research and understand Code of Federal Regulations policies as they apply to international student services, and perform data quality control functions, including reconciling, verifying, and monitoring data in the SEVIS Batching system and Banner for all international students in F-1 and J-1 non-immigrant status.
• The Assistant Director will also supervise and lead a team of Assistant International Student & Scholar Advisors, providing holistic training and mentorship to ensure the maintenance of OGS’ standards of advising and student support.
• The Assistant Director will serve as a subject matter expert and oversee a working group for at least one of the following key areas of service: Employment, Communications, Pre-Arrival, J-1 Students/Scholars, etc., and contribute to a comprehensive range of international student and scholar advising functions:
• Make referrals to relevant campus support as required;
• Contribute to the delivery of holistic advising, support, and services aimed at contributing to the integration, retention, and success of international students and scholars;
• Recommend solutions when escalating complex cases to leadership;
• Serve as a Point of Contact for any inquiries related to their subject matter expertise;
• Participate in the maintenance of all internal training and procedural documentation;
• Contribute to the development, delivery, and maintenance of the Assistant International Student & Scholar Advisor training program;
• Assist in the training of new OGS staff members;
• Provide training to campus partners in OGS policies and procedures;
• Support the planning and implementation of international student orientation;
• Serve within the DSO on-call rotation;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
• BA/BS minimum, MA or MS preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in F-1 and J-1 student advising and SEVIS operations required.
• 3-5 years of experience in higher education.
• Extreme attention to detail and elevated level of organizational skills. 
• Strong willingness to be proactive, take initiative and ownership, and innovate.
• Demonstrated ability to be interculturally sensitive and empathetic with a strong student-centered approach.
• Experience living/studying/working abroad strongly preferred.
• Experience supervising professional staff strongly preferred.
• Must be U.S. citizen or Legal Permanent Resident in order to serve as Designated School Official/Alternate Responsible Officer.

administration and community development of one or more buildings
housing 250-700 students. The Residence Director's primary purpose
is to develop and maintain an environment conducive to social and

students. This position's responsibilities include but are not
limited to creating and implementing co-curricular engagement
within university housing, student staff supervision and
development, housing and occupancy administration, student conduct,
as well as collaborating with campus partners on overall facility
and security management within the assigned residential area.
Individuals in this position are responsible for implementing
protocols to address emergencies/crises/mental health issues
including eating disorders, self-harm incidents, alcohol and drug
use/abuse/overdose, and Title IX prohibited offenses. Supervise a
staff of 8-16 paraprofessionals.

Due to the live-in requirements of the Residence Director position,
it is required that the on-campus apartment provided must be the
individual's primary residence and that person must maintain a high
visibility within their residential areas of responsibility.
Offices are also located in the residence area. All RDs participate
in an on-call duty rotation and require the individual to work
untraditional hours, including evening hours and weekends.

The Residence Director is a 12-month, full-time position. Summer
responsibilities include working on special projects, with
conferences, orientation, and summer students.

The Residence Director can serve in this role for five years.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in conflict resolution and mediation. Prior experience
supervising staff. Prior experience with student development theory
in a live-in professional or graduate assistant residence hall
setting preferred. Ability to work autonomously and with the
ability to exercise time management and decision-making skills.
Individuals must be well organized with excellent written and oral
communication skills. Experience with computer applications is
required. Skills and knowledge are normally acquired through a
Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred in College Student
Development, Higher Education Administration, or related
field.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1) Staff Supervision: Supervise the job performance of 8-16
Resident Assistants and one Senior Resident Assistant. Provide
training and supervision. Address job performance issues through
progressive discipline and termination, if necessary, in
consultation with supervisor. Complete ongoing evaluation and
semi-annual performance appraisals. Provide direction and support
to staff through goal development, assignments and follow up.

2) Community Development: Develop and implement educational
engagements that address students' personal and intellectual
growth. Serve as a resource for the Senior Resident Assistant and
Resident Assistant staff in the development and implementation of
educational engagements. Serve as the primary advisor to residence
hall council.

3) Crisis Management: Respond to emergency and crisis situations
during business hours or when on call. If outside of those
parameters, contact the appropriate duty staff to assist. Evaluate
and assess student behaviors and community trends and provide
appropriate interventions. Behaviors include, but are not limited
to eating disorders, self-harm incidents, roommate conflicts,
damage and vandalism, mental health issues, Title IX prohibited
offenses and alcohol and drug use/abuse/overdose.

4) Student Conduct: Provide direction and support to Resident
Assistant staff in the enforcement of Northeastern University Code
of Student Conduct and Guide to Residence Hall Living. Hold
administrative hearings with students regarding alleged policy
violations, adjudicate cases, assign sanctions and make referrals
when necessary. Utilize educational sanctions as a developmental
component as appropriate. Contact parents when appropriate in
resolution of student conduct concerns.

About the Opportunity

Job Summary

Director of RE Asset Management will play an integral role in the

undertake special real estate projects and play a key leadership

In this capacity, the incumbent will focus broadly on the elements
of the university's real estate portfolio from an enterprise-wide
perspective:
• Director will be responsible for real estate activities such as
proposal preparation, lease and/or lease amendment negotiations and
maintaining relationships with landlords and their representatives

• Act as owner's representative, landlord-university liaison

Key Responsibilities

Real Estate Development & Acquisition
• Work with Global team and Capital Projects teams to find sites
appropriate for all University Programming across the global
network, Oakland, and Boston.
• Assist with negotiations of leasing term sheets, contribute to,
and oversee lease negotiations and perform relevant financial
analysis throughout the process.
• Prepares, negotiates, and executes a variety of real estate
deals and necessary documentation.
• Assist with, lead, or collaborate on strategic real estate

Stakeholder Communications

Create reporting packages, interfacing with stakeholders and
managing the day-to-day real estate activities. Manage portfolio
database including analytics and reporting to help support real
estate decision making at the University. Coordinate with budget
analysist and fiscal team to ensure that invoices and leases are
paid.

Portfolio Management

Act as university-landlord liaison during any capital projects
taking place within the global network locations. Ensure all
parties are meeting their obligations under the lease terms.
Respond to property issues and emergencies as needed. Hire and
coordinate vendors, contractors, designers to deliver renovations
and repairs to leased sites.

Team Leadership

Lead and help grow a team of direct reports and outsourced project
managers and field managers. Build strong working relationships
with onsite vendors, internal and external stakeholders in all
existing and emerging global markets.

Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in commercial real estate
managing large scale Class A, B, Retail and Mixed-Use portfolios in

on the department website and social media outlets.

This position carries significant responsibility because of the

customer contact via telephone, e-mail and in-person visitors, and
the ability to provide assistance to the point of problem
resolution. Reporting to the Director of Student Support Services
& We Care, this person will provide the necessary assistance

About the Opportunity

Northeastern University invites applications for multiple,
cross-disciplinary faculty positions at all ranks (Assistant
Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor) beginning academic
year 2023-24 in the fields of Modeling, broadly defined, including
Mathematical Modeling and Computation, Simulation and Multiscale
Computational Modeling, and Network Science.

Mathematical Modeling and Computation are at the heart of multiple
areas of great societal impact. Candidates will be considered from
all areas concerned with the Mathematical Foundations of Modeling
and Optimization in the Sciences and Engineering, or the
Mathematics of Computation, with some emphasis on data-driven
research. Relevant areas of study include Applied Analysis, Partial
Differential Equations, Optimization, Discrete Mathematics, Quantum
Computing, Algebraic Geometry, Data Science, High Dimensional
Statistics, Probability, Complexity Theory, Security, and
Cryptography.

Simulation and Multiscale Computational Modeling tools and
processes can be applied broadly to impact several key areas, these
include high-velocity impacts, infrastructure materials and
construction, nanoscale and soft materials, complex- and
bio-systems, synthetic biology, quantum phenomena, multiphase
materials, manufacturing processes, interfaces and composites, as
well as dynamic events. Candidates with expertise in any of these
areas are also encouraged to apply.

The core areas of Network Science include mathematical modeling of
network structure and dynamics, dynamical processes and critical
phenomena in networks (percolation, synchronization, epidemics,
spreading, diffusion, routing), as well as all forms of data-driven
science & art. Relevant fields of study include the core areas
of Network Science and its applications to physics, mathematics,
social sciences, biology, computer science & engineering, art
& design, or any other areas that use mathematical or
computational approaches to model physical, informational, social,
biological, or geospatial complex systems and their mixtures.
Candidates specializing in any applied areas of relevance to
Network Science, ranging from opinion dynamics and sentiment
analysis, to neuroscience, psychology, or material and quantum

to engage with other areas of Network Science and its

Mathematical Modeling and Computation faculty will have a primary

Network Science faculty will have a primary tenure home department
in one of the following colleges or schools: the College of

Business, or the Khoury College of Computer Sciences, depending on

Simulation and Multiscale Computational Modeling faculty will have

colleges or schools: the College of Science, the Bouve College of
Health Sciences, the College of Social Sciences and Humanities, the

The D'Amore-McKim School of Business is interested in candidates
with expertise in applications of mathematical modeling, impact
prediction, computational modeling, decision science, and network
science in business contexts, including marketing, finance, and
