Description
Newsroom Intern will learn the following:
• Basic producer skills including writing, researching facts, logging video, timing of stories and newscast, utilizing wire services, and prompter operation
• Basic reporting skills including interviewing sources, logging video, writing stories, and appearing on camera
• Basic web skills including writing and posting stories to News9.com, as well as using social media to post and gather news
• Further learning opportunities will be possible by shadowing different members of our diverse station
Qualifications
Please note this internship is for college credit only. Candidate must have completed at least 60 credit hours towards degree. Internship must be taken for college credit. Intern candidates must be self-motivated and work well with others. Professional dress is expected at all times.
• GPA of 2.75 or above
• Official transcript
• One letter of recommendation from a current or former instructor
• One page essay detailing why student is interested in internship
