Summary:

The Lead Transportation Applications Analyst/Programmer will work with the various departments in Rail Operations to maintain and improve existing NJ TRANSIT IT Applications. They will be responsible for independently analyzing and troubleshooting application issues and providing appropriate solutions and leading other team members of the same. This position will need to work independently and in a team environment to complete assigned tasks to provide high-tech solutions that will aid in the support of operations.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Leads the design, development, testing, and implementation of new or upgrades to application systems.
• Analyzes end users' business needs, creates user stories, and evaluates scope for automation of manual processes and/or enhances existing automated systems through modification or replacement.
• Researches and develops new methods, tools, and techniques to improve system speed, increase program productivity, and reduce costs.
• Leads and develops application requirements and specifies design considerations with team members and software vendors. Designs algorithms and flowcharts for new or upgrades to applications.
• Maintains technical knowledge across various hardware/software disciplines and leads others in applying these technologies. Acts as liaison for assigned applications to assist users and other team members with problems and questions.
• Participates in the development and execution of project plans, test plans, and training guides. Recommends actions when necessary.
• Develops training guides and conducts training for end-users as required for managed applications.
• Responsible for on-call responsibilities on a rotational basis.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related area. A degree may be substituted by two (2) additional years of related experience.
• 5+ years with hands-on Full Stack development, VB.NET, XML, ASP.NET.
• 5+ years experience working with Oracle database and PL/SQL.
• 3+ years experience developing complex reports in Crystal Reports or other reporting tools.
• Ability to develop training guides and conduct training for end-users for applications
• Ability to independently configure and troubleshoot assigned applications based on business needs and processes

Knowledge and Skills:

Essential:
• Ability to support software packages, including upgrades, user requests, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of the System Development Lifecycle.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Preferred:Knowledge of transportation systems and enterprise deployment is desired.
• Knowledge of Asset Management is a plus.
• Familiarity with Rail Operations and Terminology is a plus

Under the direction of the Superintendent or General Foreman, a Repairman A is responsible for repairing NJ TRANSIT buses for maintenance work.

Main Functions
• Performs all the duties of a Repairman “B” and “C” with normal guidance and supervision
• Service all road calls
• Performs major and minor inspections with normal guidance and supervision including the recording of results and taking corrective action when appropriate to ensure a safe and mechanically sound bus
• Performs D.O.T. inspections and completes necessary forms
• Performs engine tune-ups, repairs, and replaces powertrain components as required
• Services diagnosis, and repairs any problems with heating or air conditioning units, and utilizes EPA mandated equipment and procedures
• Removes, replaces, and/or aligns all body parts and components that are fastened on the bus. Perform all body alignment, repair and component replacement as required
• Services troubleshoots, diagnosis and repairs wheelchair lifts
• Service, troubleshoot, diagnosis and repair Bus Electrical Systems normally performed by repairman prior to this agreement
• Service, troubleshoot, diagnosis and repair pneumatic (air) and hydraulic systems
• Performs all other duties as required by garage management

Education and Experience Requirements
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a high school diploma or GED, ASE certification a plus
• Possess CDL License with passenger endorsement OR possess a valid NY/PA CDL with passenger endorsement
• Be able to pass the pre-employment physical and background checks
• Have a good driving record with less than five (5) points
• Working hours can vary, scheduling flexibility required as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement

• Coordinates with the Treasury Department on payments received for proper application to invoices.

• Encourages a customer service environment for internal and external parties, focused on service
• delivery, procedural compliance, continuous improvement, and use of technology.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related area
• Three (3) years of applied experience in accounting or financial management, preferably related to Accounts Receivable.
• Knowledge of GAAP, GASB and computerized financial systems required.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP, Visual Lease and Oracle is preferred.
• Prior managerial experience is helpful.
• Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to internal and external individuals at all levels.

Essential:
• Possesses an understanding of the Sales Order Processing, Recurring Billing and Receivables Management modules in Microsoft Dynamics GP.
• Knowledge of GAAP related to proper revenue recognition.
• Understand the requirements under various GASB Statements (currently 87 and 94).
• Skilled in G/L Account reconciliations and journal entries.
• Act as subject matter expert for all areas of responsibility.
• Intermediate to Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

Preferred:
