The Event and Volunteer Engagement Manager plans and executes special events activities that build the New Life Academy community, oversees the donor database, and cultivates and cares for volunteers to support the goals of NLA and the Advancement Office.  This position works collaboratively with the Advancement Team which includes Marketing and Communications, Admissions, and Development to support the mission of NLA. The Event and Volunteer Engagement Manager is the Advancement Team lead for the donor database to thank and steward NLA donors and volunteers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Event Planning
• Implement and coordinate multiple special events, including but not limited to donor, volunteer, enrollment and alumni events, annual and capital campaign events, the annual Auction, and Golf Classic tournament.
• Lead and execute all planning of the annual auction and golf tournament to achieve the goals set by the Advancement Office. This includes recruitment, leading event chairs, and volunteers, and soliciting donations and event sponsors.
• Drive creative improvements for all events, regularly assessing effectiveness.
• Lead the online event software set-up and updates, printing event material, leading communications and the steering committee, organizing volunteer management, facilitating registration, leading all activity on event days, and comprehensive planning and execution.

Volunteer Engagement
• Develop and implement an effective strategy for incorporating volunteers into the fabric of the overall fundraising effort.
• Manage the Volunteer Model at New Life Academy.
• Oversee volunteer recruitment, coordination, onboarding, and retention of volunteers.
• Serve as a resource to the PSP parent volunteer group.
• Manage the volunteer appreciation program which includes recruiting new volunteers, caring for current volunteers, and hosting volunteer appreciation events.
• Lead the volunteer effort by modeling and promoting gratitude to volunteers.

Database Management
• Oversee constituent management, queries, reports, lists, and constituent information needed for direct mail, constituent giving analysis, and other related projects as required.
• Conduct research and create reports to identify potential donors, monitor goals, and track progress against goals.
• Oversee the entry, process, and acknowledgment of donations, pledges, pledge payments, and other financial contributions following IRS regulations.
• Ensure the accuracy of the donor and volunteer database contact information according to donor and volunteer preferences by performing data cleanup and NCOA changes.
• Collaborate with the Finance Department in ongoing monthly, annual financial reconciliation, and audit reports. Oversee the creation and maintenance of gift documentation.

General Teamwork
• Provide input on the yearly goals and budgets necessary to achieve strategic goals.
• Attend advancement-sponsored events.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Advancement in support of Advancement goals and initiatives.

EDUCATION
• Bachelor’s Degree in business or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE
• 5 years of progressive experience in event management and execution.
• Independent Christian schools experience a plus.
• Experience in a Development or Advancement Department is a plus.

SPIRITUAL QUALITIES
• Born again believer who exhibits the Fruit of the Spirit in their daily walk
• Regular attendee and supporter of a church whose fundamental beliefs are evangelical in nature
