Duties:
• Adhere to the accounting policies and procedures, review accounting policy annually, implement a system of controls over accounting transaction to minimize risk as needed.
• Prepare, review and post accounts payable transactions to include weekly/monthly transactions to include vendor invoices, expense reports and recurring payments
• Prepare and maintain financial records to track assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other financial related activities.
• Perform month-, quarter-, and year-end closing activities, account reconciliations, resulting in timely and accurate financial reports.
• Review general ledger for possible reclassification of mis-coded entries.
• Review and/or prepare monthly reconciliation of mis-coded accounts.
• Prepare necessary journal entries.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, process receipts.
• Perform general cost accounting and other related duties.
• Research accounting issues and recommend appropriate accounting treatment.
• Process and prepare payroll.
• Work with external auditors and provide needed information for financial and insurance audits as needed.
• Coordinate with external CPA firm.
• Coordinate with insurance & other 3rd party carriers to develop benefits package.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with account experience with multi-entity organizations; MBA or CPA preferred
• 2 to 3 years accounting/financial experience required; real estate industry experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of GAAP
• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
• Advanced level proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting-related software; experience with Rent Manager is a plus
• Effective communication (verbal and written), analytical, organization, planning and project management skills
• Ability to identify and implement process and other improvements, partnering with others as needed
