The Program Development Coordinator serves as the lead for distance learning programmatic development and communications for the Naval Postgraduate School Extended Campus (NEC). The Program Development Coordinator oversees distance learning programmatic support and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders for program promotion and communication. This role will provide support for needs assessments and market analyses to identify opportunities for new educational offerings, assist with the development of new DL program submissions, and serve as the primary POC for commands sending DL students and for NPS academic departments.

Minimum Qualifications
• Master’s degree in business, marketing, curriculum development, or relevant field
• Minimum three years of project management or program communications required
• Experience in performing market analyses and/or needs assessments
• Experience with managing multiple projects with variety of stakeholder involvement
• Experience designing or developing curricula
• Experience developing programmatic communications to include web and print material
• Flexible and able to establish priorities and manage numerous projects simultaneously
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe Suite
• Strong communication, team, and customer-centric skills that promote participation and collaboration a wide variety of stakeholders who have diverse skills and viewpoints
• Strong command of the English language; able to skillfully communicate in both written and oral formats

DRMI faculty are active teachers and scholars. The successful candidates will demonstrate valuable teaching experience and excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as a Ph.D. in decision analysis, operations research, information science or related discipline by the date of the appointment. We expect evidence of scholarly research, is expected and a candidate should demonstrate a willingness to eventually pursue research relevant to the Department of Defense. Work experience related to the DoD or other government agencies is strongly preferred. Fluency in a foreign language, particularly Arabic, French, Russian, or Spanish, is valuable but not required.

DRMI faculty must be able to teach in an integrated, team-teaching environment in resources management executive education short courses. The ability to teach multicriteria decision making and / or risk and basic data analysis is highly desirable. DRMI faculty must be willing to travel both internationally (generally no more than five weeks per year) and domestically. The DRMI does not follow a standard academic calendar and the candidates must live in the Monterey, CA, area and be available to is expected to be available to teach year-round and be based in Monterey, CA. The positions will remain open until filled. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum qualifications:
• A PhD in a relevant discipline, including but not limited to financial management, operations research, decision analysis, or a related field
• Evidence of teaching ability to an executive- or professional- level audience
• Must currently hold or be eligible for a Secret clearance
• Must be a U.S. citizen

The Department of Systems Engineering (SE) at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, is one of the largest SE departments in the country. Our resident students are primarily military officers from the U.S. and our allies pursuing Master’s degrees in defense-oriented SE topics. Our distance-learning students are primarily civilians working for the Navy, Marines, Army, and other Department of Defense organizations. We also have a Ph.D. program that graduates about one student per year. Our students are capable, mature, and hard working. The department has 40 faculty members, with 13 tenure track professors, who do research in defense-related systems engineering topics of model-based systems engineering, mission engineering, energy systems, combat systems, reliability, system suitability, and digital engineering. Our research addresses important and challenging problems in national security and we foster close collaborations with U.S. Navy and Department of Defense sponsors, as well as other universities. A research professor primarily supports the research mission of the NPS by working on research projects. Because research and teaching are so closely intertwined at NPS, a research professor can expect to teach up to one or two courses per year, advise theses and/or capstone projects, and provide service to the department, school, and community.
