About the TAPAS Project

We are recruiting a multi-disciplinary team of researchers and innovators to rapidly develop a TAPAS prototype for measuring climate change adaptation of agricultural systems using satellite remote sensing within circa 1 year that can be used as the basis for follow on financing as a spin-out company or social enterprise.

The TAPAS project is seeking a dynamic Project Manager who is motivated to rapidly develop disruptive satellite remote sensing technologies for measuring climate change adaptation in agricultural systems worldwide. The Project Manager will work closely with Prof. Golden, Prof. Spillane, Dr. Jarvis and other members of the TAPAS team to accelerate the workflows towards proof of principle of TAPAS prototype platforms at multiple test sites across agricultural systems globally.

Job Description:

The TAPAS Project Manager will be responsible for the project management of the overall project, under the direction of Prof. Golden and Prof. Spillane, to ensure that the project’s goals, milestones and impact are reached.

Duties:
• Development, management and monitoring of the TAPAS workplan, outputs and outcomes.
• Ensuring that TAPAS research and innovation activities by TAPAS team members remain focused on the goal and objectives of the project.
• Organisation of regular meetings and events to accelerate the TAPAS research and innovation activities.
• Ensuring that all TAPAS project budgetary and administrative tasks are done on time and to a high standard.
• Ensuring that TAPAS researchers have access to all necessary technical, scientific and business infrastructure to reach the goals of the project.
• Engaging in and assisting with drafting and submission of research papers, reports and other forms of TAPAS project outputs.
• Organisation and deployment of TAPAS strategic communications to identified audiences.
• Engaging in partnership and alliance building with other programs and institutions.
• Travelling to field sites and events globally for ground-truthing of TAPAS predictions and for partnership building.
• Engaging in resource mobilisation for sustainable financing of TAPAS beyond the SFI funding timeframe, including development of investor pitches and engaging with accelerator and incubator programs.
• Ensuring consensus amongst the TAPAS researchers and innovators towards a common goal, identification of mission drift and resolving any impediments towards the goals of the project.
• Assisting with management of the program's budget, monitoring expenditure and costs against delivered and realised benefits as the programme progresses.
• Ensuring the progression of milestones and delivery of research objectives in accordance with the project plan.
• Drafting of reports for funding agencies, and engaging in development of proposals for additional funding to further expand and sustain the TAPAS project.
• Managing third party contributions to the program and communications with all stakeholders
• Managing any risks to the programme's successful outcome
• Initiating extra activities and other interventions wherever gaps in the program are identified or issues arise.
• Organizing project team meetings and outreach activities, including liaising with relevant public and private sector actors.
• Ensuring high impact research outputs, impacts and outcomes from TAPAS activities.
• Keeping appropriate records as directed and in line with Funder/University policy
• Working closely with other members of TAPAS research team on an on-going basis to support the efficient functioning of the TAPAS project through providing continuous contributions to the technical program, including aiding in the preparation of grant reporting, stakeholder engagement, and follow-on research and innovation financing leverage

The TAPAS Project Manager will be co-supervised by Dr. Aaron Golden and Prof. Charles Spillane.

Qualifications/Skills required:

Essential Requirements:
• Minimum Masters level (including MBA or equivalent) qualification in a relevant subject area.
• At least 5-6 years of post-qualification experience in project management, ideally of projects in the agriculture domain relating to satellite remote sensing and/or climate change. Qualifications or experience of relevance to climate change and/or satellite remote sensing in agricultural systems.
• Significant experience of project management of research and innovation projects with global partners.
• Understanding and interest in climate change modelling, satellite remote sensing, AI / machine learning, user interfaces, and decision-support systems.
• Interest and ideally experience in innovation and enterprise development, including in development of start-ups or social enterprises to address global challenges and of climate financing and investment sources.
• Strong understanding of climate change impacts on agricultural systems (including social impacts) and concepts such as adaptation, resilience and transformation of agrifood systems.
• Strong understanding of climate adaptation needs & priorities of the public and private sector at national, landscape and farm-level scales.
• Willingness to travel for project coordination and activities.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• Excellent data analysis and scientific/report writing skills.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, recruitment and resource allocation procedures.

Desirable Requirements:
• PhD in Physics, Astronomy or Applied Mathematics or a related discipline in a topic that is relevant to the position.
• Significant experience in international development/agricultural or environmental research is an advantage.
• Excellent project management skills, with demonstrated proficiency in relevant project management methodologies, tools, and techniques; professional certification in project management is an advantage.
• Excellent written and oral communication, editing, and reporting skills in English. Working knowledge of French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese or other major languages that enhances effective collaboration across is an advantage.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software packages, with skills in relevant project management software being an advantage.
• Ability and willingness to work in and promote diverse multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environments.

Salary: Postdoctoral Researcher Scale, Point 1 – Point 8 (€42,033 - €51,193) per annum pro rata for shorter and/or part-time contracts (public sector pay policy rules pertaining to new entrants will apply).

Job Description:

We are seeking ambitious, office-based Core Lab Ono-invasive imaging analyst. The successful candidate(s) will possess the technical proficiency to perform all necessary activities related to Core Lab non-invasive... Imaging analysis in multicentre clinical trials and registries.

The main work involves a 3 phase operation start with study preparation, DICOM data receipt until data freeze and data transfer.
• DICOM material handling: data handling and related activities. This includes receiving imaging materials, evaluating their quality, tracking data, processing and storing it, managing databases, and assigning analyses. Additionally, material handler responsibilities include developing tracking and file count databases, a handling plan, various SOPs for material handling and exporting, as well as communicating with clinical sites about imaging quality and adequacy for specific clinical trial.
• DICOM image analysis, and reporting;
• Non-invasive imaging data review for quality before data freeze and data transfer.

Duties:

The successful candidate is expected to carry out the following duties as part of his/her role:
• Technical (IT & DICOM) understanding and execution of material handling and image analysis of non-invasive imaging modalities including Echocardiography (Transthoracic and transoesophageal), Multi-Slice Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Knowledge and competence of other modalities is a plus, such as ECG (12-lead, loop recorder, Holter monitors, treadmill, ambulatory ECG and Duplex Ultrasound
• Understanding of DICOM structure and DICOM image anonymization
• To provide assistance in conducting CORRIB Core Lab research activities, including planning, organizing, conducting, and communicating imaging material activities within the overall scope of a research project.
• To coordinate and perform a variety of independent tasks within the Core Lab analyst responsibilities and Core Lab team activities involved in the collection, analysis, documentation and some interpretation of information/results as they relate to material handling processes.
• To coordinate the development of Core Lab related forms, questionnaires and the application of qualitative and quantitative research techniques; write procedures manuals for data collection and coding.
• Supports the set-up of a study specific image transfer systems.
• Registration and quality assessment of the received imaging materials.
• Write up results from own material handling activity as it relates to research activity (e.g. as project report) for review by the medical director/PI, including preparing technical reports, conclusions and recommendations.
• Attend and contribute to relevant CORRIB meetings/conferences at the discretion of the Core Lab medical director.
• Building and maintaining a robust, simple and efficient Core Lab DICOM-based workflow
• Document material handling procedures/SOPs.
• Keep appropriate Core Lab material handling records as directed and in line with Funder/University policy.
• Assist the Medical Director in developing the imaging charter and image related documents.
• Work under the direction of the Core Lab medical director for Structural Heart, Heart Failure and Cardio-Oncology to plan and manage own day-to-day activity as it relates to the Core Lab research within this framework & direction.
• Where appropriate provide advice and assistance to Core Lab support staff and Core Lab /research students.
• Prepare Data summary reports as required by the Medical Director.
• Undertake any other activities relevant to the projects as directed by the Medical Director.
• Continue to update knowledge and develop skills.

Qualifications/Skills required:

Essential Requirements:
• Applicants must have a Medical Degree such as MBBCh, or Sonographer/radiographer certification or equivalent.
• Applicants must have basic training of working with non-invasive Imaging in Cardiology, Radiology or Vascular Surgery.
• Applicants must have technical capability (image acquisition and analysis/reporting) at a level that is equivalent to Level 3 in Echocardiography, at least level 1-2 in Multi-Slice Computed Tomography and/or Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or equivalent.
• Applicants must have experience in image data formats such as DICOM and specific formats
• Core Lab Non-Invasive Imaging Analyst have technical proficiency of Core Lab Imaging Analysis of Echocardiography (Transthoracic and transoesophageal) an/or Multi-Slice Computed Tomography
• Candidates must have the clinical, managerial, and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role as described under section “Duties”.

Desirable Requirements:
• Competency in analysis of Magnetic Resonance Imaging; ECG (12-lead, loop recorder, Holter monitors, treadmill, ambulatory ECG and Duplex Ultrasound is a plus.
• Job specific: It is desirable for candidates to have experience and training with an evidence in 1 or more of the following standards:
• ISO 14155; (GCP) GCLP endorsed by WHO, and FDA 21 CFR part 11
• Core Lab general requirements
• Experience in processing and managing imaging datasets including
• Experience in utilizing data processing systems such as image transfer and DICOM viewers, DICOM anonymizer, and DICOM editor.
• Experience (Basic interface experience in import, export and anonymize datasets) in using Cardiovascular Image analysis platforms including TomTec Arena, 3Mensio, Medis Suite, TeraRecon, and Medviso Segment
• Computer literacy including Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Coding capabilities.
• Communications skills in other languages than English.
• Self-motivated, high level of initiative and excellent attention to detail.
• Team skills and leadership skills including the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team (particularly in the context of a changing clinical and technical environment).
• Willingness to share knowledge and/or new ideas with staff and colleagues.
• Innovation including the ability to effectively challenge existing practices and procedures in developing and improving services to patients.
• Good Clinical Practice Training in relation to all clinical research activity and the importance of providing a high-quality service.

The aim of this research project is to use theories of behaviour change and implementation science to provide a unified approach to identifying how to increase the uptake of home haemodialysis in Ireland.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and management of the study working closely with the PI (Dr Paul O’Connor). The successful candidate will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team of researchers and healthcare professionals. They will:
• assist with the coordination and planning of the research activities in the project; recruit patients and healthcare staff to participate in the research project; collect and analyse quantitative and qualitative data; assist with the preparation of manuscripts and reports for publication; and disseminate the findings of the project.
