Position Summary

UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment.
Reporting to the Vice President, Development and exercising a high level of independence, the Assistant Director is responsible for a wide range of fundraising support initiatives and activities. This will include serving alongside the VP, Development in executing projects that help the development team achieve their fundraising goals and strengthen collaboration across University Development and Alumni Relations. Examples include data analysis to support strategic decision making around high priority prospects and regions, streamlining annual planning and communication, and partnering on plans for a future campaign. This work entails planning, directing, and managing complex projects involving a variety of staff members.
The Assistant Director of Development Initiatives will also:
• Prepare and manage proposals, presentations, or other deliverables
• Manage university and department interactions on behalf of the VP
• Manage and oversee budgets under the VP
• Coordinate interactions with development and university leadership
• Manage stewardship for donors with the VP and coordinate with stewardship staff
• Serve as executive editor on behalf of the VP, lead and collaborate with colleagues on events, provide administrative oversight including supervising staff, organize meeting agendas, and direct department wide communications and activities
• Partner with VP and research team in identifying funding sources and supervise projects related to prospect analysis and donor initiatives
• Coordinate the annual strategic planning process and oversee progress toward achieving fundraising and project goals
• Conduct research, analyze data, and identify and summarize trends
• Develop and prepare high-level management and fundraising report
• Supervise and train staff to support the overall functions of the department

• Maintains and receives files for area. Maintains files in organized and up-to-date manner in order to facilitate their retrieval. Completes filing in accordance with departmental procedures. Sorts and distributes documents and forms for area section. Distributes materials according to content of communications and departmental procedures. Logs in materials with respect to time and data when applicable. Processes incoming and outgoing documents. Completes forms neatly. Secures appropriate signatures and forwards documents/forms to correct destination based on pertinent Medical Center procedures. Maintains copy for files. Faxes documents in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Answers patient questions to ensure understanding and patient satisfaction, or refers them to more senior level staff. Maintains confidentiality on matters to which they are privileged.

• Monitors intake work queue for timely intake completion.
• Scan all necessary documents (insurance cards, lab requisitions, etc) into the intake system.
• Responsible for patient check-in and check-out. Gathers all patient demographic related data and materials from patients and/or their representatives. Obtains insurance information (ID card, member/group #s, etc.), verifies insurance eligibility electronically, takes their picture and asks them to use Patient Secure. On subsequent visits, asks them to verify demographic info and makes any necessary edits. In... this role, the successful candidate is responsible and must have the ability to perform general and specialized MRI procedures of designated anatomical areas which meet the department's standard of quality; respond to allergic reactions and other life-threatening patient conditions arising while the patient is in the department; treat patients, visitors, and staff with courtesy and tact; maintain confidentiality of patient record and information; work effectively under stress and adjust priorities as circumstances require; organize work assignments, maintain accurate and complete records; maintain a high degree of accuracy in procedural detail record keeping; work independently on-call completing all required clerical and technical functions.
