The Job Details are as follows:
Responsible for complex data analysis, evaluation, modification and maintenance of data throughout its life cycle following appropriate standards and policies. Communicate with external data providers & members to resolve data issues.This position is part of the Central Index and Knowledge base data ingest team, responsible for ongoing knowledge base collections ingest which includes adding and updating new publishers and collections to OCLCs Knowledge Base . This position also requires liaison to continue on going relationships with publishers. This role would also be responsible for ensuring link construction for KB linker, for new publishers, updating publishers related to platform migrations, ensuring that minor corrections that are platform specific are carried out.
This role will perform the following:
• Analysis of data to onboard new providers/collections and very close work with development staff
• Hands-on data research on bibliographic and system log data; investigates, troubleshoots, and resolves data quality issues
• Promote and support OCLCs electronic content databases by providing expertise in data formats such as KBART, MARC, etc
• Data manipulation and creating templates, documents, conversion specifications, and scripting to improve data quality and consistency
• Analyzing vendor and data provider sites to create or maintain e-content linking schemas
• Works with colleagues to identify opportunities for process improvements and assists in the implementation.
• Provides input for data science and machine learning projects.
• Collaborate with team members and communicates relevant information to leadership.
• Working with external data providers to resolve issues.
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience
• Master's degree in computer science, math, statistics, or related field with three years of appropriate experience; OR, seven years’ experience with data analysis or creation of library data
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with high attention to data quality; enjoys solving data problems while working mostly independently
• Experience with query languages or computer programing languages (e.g. SQL, R, Python, XSLT, Perl, etc. )
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Experience
• Advanced experience with library data and library standards (e.g., MARC, KBART, COUNTER, BIBFRAME, etc.)
• Advanced experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, etc.) and data visualization best practices
• Experience with secure data transfers (e.g. FTP, s-FTP, OAI-PMH. HTTPS, Amazon S3, external media, etc.)
• Experience with data stores (e.g. Snowflake, etc.)
• Passion for data quality and streamlined processes

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES
