The Organ Donation Coordinator (ODC) utilizes healthcare knowledge, expertise, independent industry specific judgement, and medical protocols to coordinate all aspects of organ donation for transplant and research in the Cascade Life Alliance (CLA) Donor Service Area (DSA) hospitals in Oregon, southern Washington, and southwest Idaho.

Core duties of this position in support of the mission and goals of CLA include: assessment and evaluation of potential organ donors, communication with donor families, direction of clinical management of the organ donor, evaluation and placement of organs for transplant, coordination of the organ recovery process with transplant and medical teams, and assistance of those teams with the surgical recovery and transportation of organs for transplant and research.

Function/Duties of Position
• Uses independent judgment and established parameters to screen for potential organ, tissue, and eye donation in all DSA hospitals; conducts donor management in ICU; places organs for transplant and assists with organ recovery; completes required documentation and donor follow up in a timely manner.
• Partners with colleagues across all departments of the OPO to ensure effective interdisciplinary teamwork to optimize donation outcomes throughout the DSA including a collaborative approach to authorization, hospital development, and organ recovery processes.
• Communicates effectively with external partners, including:
• Provides real-time education to hospital staff about the donation process.
• Collaborates with transplant centers and transplant teams through the allocation and recovery process.
• Participates in meetings as requested by the department manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the AOC and CLA leadership.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's of Science Degree with healthcare related focus or equivalent experience.
• 3-years recent relevant clinical or donation related experience or equivalent.
• Extensive clinical healthcare knowledge base, with the ability to quickly and independently exercise sound clinical judgement in an often stressful environment.
• Excellent communication skills, flexible, highly motivated, a good team member with a positive attitude.
• Must be able to work in an adaptive fashion with a wide range of professional and nonprofessional constituents including but not limited to governmental officials, students, healthcare staff and the public.

Cascade Life Alliance (CLA) serves to save, enhance and heal lives through organ donation and transplantation. CLA is the federally designated organ procurement organization serving 84 hospitals in Oregon, Southern Washington and Western Idaho.

The Hospital Services Coordinator (HSC) will be the trained organ donation expert, responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing customized organ donation processes at assigned hospitals and supporting additional/similar activities in other hospitals as needed. This role provides support to ensure hospital experiences are consistent and the highest level of quality service and outcome is achieved.

Responsible for the development and maintenance of relationships with high level hospital administrators, physicians, nurses and other key hospital personnel to ensure the increase of organ donation in our service area.

Function/Duties of Position

Relationship Management
• Act as a consultant, educator and liaison to key stakeholders and healthcare professionals.
• Establish and develop ongoing relationships with key hospital personnel to ensure effective organ donation processes.
• Facilitate on-site mediation and conflict resolution as needed in order to support organ donation efforts.

Education & Regulatory
• Collaborate with hospital partners to develop strategic plans that serve to hardwire organ donation best practices.
• Serve as a resource for hospital in the development and review of organ donation policies.Conduct, analyze and report death record reviews to hospital administration and key hospital personnel.
• Utilize death record review findings to determine effectiveness of hospital's donation program and use data to determine organ donation education efforts and strategic plans.
• Identify and educate all levels of hospital personnel and physician staff involved in the organ donation process.

Process Management
• Obtain and manage EMR access for internal clinical staff.
• Provide real time support to internal and external customers on active donor cases. May require overnight travel to distance hospitals.
• Coordinate and participate in post donor case reviews to identify process variances and work to create solutions. May require overnight travel to distant hospitals.
• Develop and participate in organ donation committees in key hospitals to promote the organ donation mission. May require overnight travel to distant hospitals.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or healthcare related field
• Critical thinker with determination and persistence.
• Compassionate, conscientious, self-starter, and must possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively deal with conflict resolution, individuals or groups and a variety of medical professionals.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Strong conflict management skills as well as written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong public speaking skills.
• Ability to create and present targeted education modules to small or large groups in a clinical setting.
• An ability to work productively both independently, and as a team participant with accountability to all other team members for meeting agreed upon objectives.
• Possess strong strategic skills and fundamental knowledge of medical terminology. Must be able to determine hospital needs and effectively formulate a plan to be delivered to both hospital staff and other stakeholders.

This position coordinates and produces high quality meals, coordinates menus assembly and incorporates HACCP procedures and safe food handling practices and taking corrective action where applicable with other cooks or, at times, tray line. Responsible for directing other cooks and food service workers in proper preparation and methods of service and presentation. Responsible for the coordination of patients, guests, and staff related menu items. This position needs to be capable of covering all positions. This role is expected to be mission orientated and be flexible to adjust to business demands and requirements. The position needs to be a facilitator and coordinator in conjunction with the sous chef and executive chef.

Function/Duties of Position
• Preparation/Cooking: Prepare food items for patients and visitors at OHSU South hospital and CHH2 according to standardized recipes and menus or by verbal instruction given by higher-level cooks or supervisors. Perform functions according to following procedures as listed: (1) mise-en-place (put in place) all ingredients and supplies; (2) perform all required preparation; (3) cook ingredients using prescribed best method; (4) hold and serve at proper safe temperature; (5) chill as appropriate using correct food safety procedures; (6) reheat as necessary to the appropriate safe temperature; (7) properly label and date products to be stored in the various stages of production.
• Food Safety & Sanitation: Ensure all foods, including potentially hazardous foods, are handled in a safe and proper manner according to Food and Nutrition Standard Operating Procedures, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), OHSU Infection Control, and Multnomah County Health Department. Identify critical control points (CCPs) in food preparation and storage and monitor the factors that might create a food safety hazard, using corrective action when a deviation occurs. CCPs include but are not limited to: hand washing, cooking, cooling, holding, thawing, temperature monitoring, cross-contamination. Effectively prepare sanitizing agents (e.g. bleach water, quat sanitizer) and clean and sanitize food preparation appliances, work areas, utensils, and equipment using dish machine or three-compartment sink method. Maintain cleanliness of assigned work area. At minimum, the last 30 minutes of each shift will be dedicated to cleaning, sanitizing, and sweeping assigned work area.
• Planning, Requisitioning and Preparation: This position must be able to maintain adequate products and supplies for patient operations, especially being prepared for the next days and coming events. Request needed products, and supplies to be ordered; check supplies or food products delivered by suppliers, to insure they meet type, quantity, and quality specified, checked for proper temperature safety standards. Must be able to make a production schedule and oversee its completion, coordinating with the patient services supervisor and the retail cafe supervisor to ensure complete order and adjust to last minute order when necessary. Keep records of amounts of foods prepared and left overs to adjust production schedules.
• Miscellaneous: Provides training in cooking methods and procedures, participates with supervisor in planning menus and recipe development and testing. Cook II positions are expected to be independent problem solvers, and creative innovators; and perform regular and new tasks and responsibilities as assigned by managers and supervisors. Assists with cooks and other staff members to achieve daily and overall production needs as directed by supervisor. Demonstrates through performance the philosophy of service excellence. Performs requirements for staff members as outlined in the Compliance Roles and Responsibilities in OHSU Hospitals and Clinics.
Required Qualifications
• Three years of cooking experience in an institution or commercial firm serving complete meals; OR An Associate's degree in Food Service Management, Foods and Hospitality Service, or a directly related field
• Working knowledge of high volume commercial cooking equipment and utensils, safe operation and sanitation. Personal basic safety and sanitation skills, exemplary hygiene standards and effective team motivation, be able to work independently from a recipe and verbal instruction

Function/Duties of Position

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team in the Pediatric Nephrology Division. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides collaborative and multidisciplinary care of children and adolescence in Pediatric Nephrology with a team of seven attending physicians. The APP will provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. The service responsibilities include rounding on outpatient dialysis patients, co-managing renal transplant patients in the renal transplant clinic, attending in the pediatric nephrology outpatients, and managing the 24-hour blood pressure program.

The APP faculty will have numerous opportunities to become involved in quality improvement work, education, research, and childhood advocacy. Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, the Department of Pediatrics, and the Division of Nephrology are committed to developing our faculty members’ careers. A pathway for academic appointment/promotion for the APPs was recently implemented at OHSU.

This position is responsible for 24/7 management of retail food operations on Marquam Hill campus at Oregon Health & Science University and one location at the Center of Health and Healing Building 2.

The retail food services program consists of 12 retail venues (cafes, espresso bars, healthy food store and gift shop) generating 3.2 million transactions and serves the dining and nutritional needs of faculty, staff, and guests across all Oregon Health & Science University missions.

The position oversees an annual operating budget of $15 million, which generates $15 million in annual revenue. The position oversees a management team of five supervisors and a staff of 130 full time employees, including cooks, baristas, cashiers, and food service workers.

This position is responsible for development and implementation of the annual operating plan for retail operations that supports the Food & Nutrition Services Strategic Plan.

This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining systems and procedures, developing and monitoring the budget for retail food service operations, and for ensuring that food safety and outstanding guest experiences are maintained in all locations.

Function/Duties of Position

Retail Leadership
• Responsible for 24/7 management of retail operations on Marquam Hill.
• Leads, mentors, trains and develops existing managers, new managers and lead workers.
• Prepares and implements the Food & Nutrition Services Retail strategic operating plan as it aligns with the Food & Nutrition Services Departmental Strategic Plan.
• Assigns management staff to implement tactics identified in the strategic operating plan. Monitors performance to the strategic plan and the individual tactics.
• Responsible for retail menu selection, pricing, merchandizing strategy, and coffee strategy.
• Develops, measures, and ensures quality standards. Works with Executive Chef to develop and maintain café menu items, vendor selection, and food safety policy and procedures.
• Works with Director of Food and Nutrition Services to develop new business opportunities and locations.
• With the Executive Chef, identifies new products for implementation and negotiates with vendors on price, delivery issues, and outlet placement.
• Participates in Oregon Health Science 9th floor retail operation planning for new retail café (replacing 3rd floor café in 4-5 years).

Safety & Quality
• Develops and monitors food quality standards of all retail operations.
• With Food Safety Coordinator and Executive Chef, develops and monitors safety standards, food safety programs, practices, requirements, equipment, and retail premises.
• Ensures all Institutional and regulatory food safety standards are followed.
• Fulfill responsibilities to the organization through performance that promotes the service excellence philosophy.

Financial Management
• Provides financial oversight for approximately $10-15 million in annual revenue generated from 12 Cafes, Espresso Bars, Natural Foods Stores, Catering Services and Gift Shop.
• Manages $10-15 million expense budget. Assists in retail budgets, forecasts and accounting with the support of the Food Service Director.
• Sets goals and standards of quality, cost controls, labor scheduling, staffing and employee training. Develops and implements benchmarking systems in the department for all retail operations.
• Monitors monthly expenditures for all Retail Operations. Identifies retail wide problems and areas of concerns and then develops and implement solutions.
• Develops annual and 5 year capital budgets.
• Budgeted numbers are 50% of pre-Covid totals.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree. 5 years experience as General Manager of a high volume ($2 million + annual revenue) may be substituted for the Bachelor Degree.
• 8 years General Manager or Assistant General Manager experience in a high volume ($2 Million+ Annual revenue) restaurant or retail foodservice operation.
• Demonstrated ability to proficiently manage retail operations, including: budget and forecasting, cost of goods sold, labor costs, hiring and performance management of employees, customer service, menu development and leadership.
• Current ServSafe certification or equivalent.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience managing staff in an organization subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
• National Restaurant Association Foodservice Management Professional Certification.

Function/Duties of Position

Campus Dispatchers handle emergency and non-emergency calls for service, maintain two-way radio contact with University Police Officers, Community Service Officers, and maintenance personnel, monitors campus alarms, operates the Access Control system, and operates telephones and communications equipment in a communications center of OHSU within the Department of Public Safety (University Police Department).

Dispatchers provide customer service to a wide range of stakeholders, making notifications to impacted departments and provides the focal point for emergency services for the campus and institution. Responsible for problem solving and identifying how calls will be handled and transferring calls as necessary.Monitor and manipulate multiple media sources of information including numerous radio frequencies, telephone lines, several data terminals, alarm systems and video monitors.

Prioritize and dispatch both emergency and non-emergency calls as required using established guidelines.
• Receive, dispatch and document calls for service or information, including fire emergencies, medical emergencies, crimes in progress or other high stress emergent needs. Maintain a computerized log of all activities or service requests.
• Receive, dispatch and document calls for maintenance assistance received via telephone, radio or walk-in traffic.
• Interacts by phone or in person with OHSU staff and students relative to service information, signing out of keys to facilities and using access control system.

Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Operate a multi-line phone and radio system.
