Your Role
We are looking for a talented and highly motivated Sr. Full Stack Application Engineer to help bring the best possible software solutions to educators.
Responsibilities
• Become an expert in your team’s domain: its features, services, and how it interacts with other parts of Otus’s platform.
• Interact with engineers and other stakeholders such as Product Owners to build and ship new features and to maintain/enhance existing ones.
• Help be a leader on the team as it works to break down business requirements into technical work, and researching solutions. Help to guide implementation and stay focused on goals.
• Provide mentorship to other engineers and model high-quality practices. Write high-quality, well-tested code.
• Develop, ship, and support features in the full stack that Otus utilizes.
Qualifications
• You have 7+ years of relevant experience.
• You are a quick learner who enjoys making “unknowns” into “knowns.”
• You have years of experience in all or most of Otus’s tech stack, which includes an Angular SPA and Node.js microservices (using TypeScript)
• You’ve worked on and maintained features that have seen regular high amounts of traffic (~2,000 concurrent users).
• You have worked full-time remote, on a distributed/remote team.
Nice to Haves
• Experience with event streams such as Kafka
• Experience with backend frameworks such as NestJS
• Experience working with and migrating legacy code bases
• Experience with building and integrating CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with EdTech products and services
