• Working with SEN students to provide academic support, including one-on-one and small group instruction
• Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons that are tailored to meet the needs of SEN students
• Creating and implementing individual education plans (IEPs) for SEN students
• Monitoring student progress and reporting to the class teacher and SENCo
• Supporting students with personal care needs, such as toileting and feeding, as required
• Collaborating with other professionals involved in the care and education of SEN students, including occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and educational psychologists
• Providing emotional and behavioural support to SEN students, including managing challenging behaviour and promoting positive relationships
• Maintaining accurate records of student progress and activities
Requirements:
• Experience working with SEN students in a classroom setting
• Knowledge of special education practices and principles
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond to changing student needs and priorities
• A patient and compassionate approach to working with students with diverse needs and abilities
• A relevant qualification, such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
Salary: Dependent on qualifications and experience

The candidate will be required to support SEN learners in the class and help differentiate the work to suit their needs. You will also be responsible for undertaking administrative tasks such as marking work, signing reading diaries and organising reading books into the correct levels.
The successful candidate will have a strong academic background and be confident in leading subject specific interventions by working 1:1 and in small groups with pupils to raise their attainment levels in core subjects (English, Math and Reading). The candidate will also have a natural patient and nurturing nature as well as the ability to be resilient, proactive and passionate about working with children.
